one more question, can you daily drive them? What is the draw back on them if there's no rain, and how bad are they in the rain?

I guess you could if you wanted to but you would have to pull over or drive very very carefully if it started to rain, and they are not speed rated so no sustained high speed. Although I have never used them in the rain (or at all for that matter) so I am just going on what I have read and heard.

I bought them only to use on the track (1/4 mile) and nothing else. I would imagine you could daily drive them but they probably would not last more than a few weeks.

Anyone else feel free to chime in if I missed something.

I'd advise you to get a pair of dedicated rims. You can only swap tires so often before you run the risk that the tire won't seal properly because the bead gets "stretched". Plus, you are running the risk of scratching your rim with each swap.

The treadwear rating on those things can't be more than 80, right? Were the tires heat cycled? (Not sure if that really means that much.)

From what I have heard and read, the tires need a number of passes before they are really going to give you the grip you want. Don't be discouraged if they don't knock your socks off on day 1.

Good luck!!

I agree!! They seem to "cure" with a little age, from the chemical compound settling. Make sure to get them hot with a burnout before you run!

very nice! the low is 48 degrees for thursday, the track will be very well prepped for us.... you'll be pulling 1.6 easily with those.... we'll get em warmed really well....

I'll bring my high definition camcorder to record some runs and burnouts....

I was in terror in the rain on mine.....

Some guys use them for autocross but like I have posted before, the Goodrich guy was screaming at me, "Nooooooooo!! The sidewalls are designed for straight forward maximum acceleration, not a 2 ton car in the twisties."

Also you would be replacing them every other month. Draggincents got about 3k on his using them for daily driving.

I drove on mine regularly with no issues. However, the E55 is not my daily driver so I can't really comment on the wear.
They grip quite well, just make sure you air them down at the track. My best times were at 25-26psi. One night I couldn't get them to hook for the life of me and on the way home I realized I forgot to air them down (ran at 40psi) when I got to the track.

I have ran the Nitto DragRadial tires on multiple vehicles with no problems. I think the first set I had lasted about 5K miles and that included probably 10 passes at the track and a few burnouts.

The last set was the 315 steamrollers on my 04 Cobra...They hooked up pretty good.

They are going on my stock rims, the car has a set of 20's on it now. The only reason they will be removed from the rims will be to do a track day where i'll need track tires on all 4 wheels or if they wear out. Thanks for the tips though.

Did you try them with lower pressure than 25-26 and they were worse or did they get unstable? My best 60' so far was a 2.074 and best 1/4 was 12.83 at 110.59 (in the only 4 runs i've ever done on a 1/4 mile track) so I should be able to improve significantly with the cooler weather were expecting and the DR's helping me out.

no, i'm putting the DR's in the trunk and I'll change them at the track, and leaving the 20's on the front.

IMO, 25-26 is too high. I'd start at 18 and work down from there. If you're changing tires at the track, your tires will be cold and therefore you'll get a pretty big jump in pressure after your first burnout and pass. Check your tire pressure after every pass and adjust according to your 60' times.

Yep 25-26psi is too much. Just like WayneE said start at 18psi and go down from there. For me on my other car 15psi was the number.

Same here 14 to 15 psi cold seems to work the best on the e55.
PAS see you at the track
