Finally made the change . . .
Traded my beloved old W210 E55 in last night for an '04 W211 E55. As much as I loved my 01, the new cars are quite nice. Now all I have to do is remember all the stuff I read on here about the W211s so I don't have to research it all over again.

I'm traveling tomorrow, so I put the digital camera in the car for just that purpose!!
I'll have some pics tomorrow evening of the new toy.
I'm just having to re-educate myself on the mods for these cars. Lots and lots to read and learn!!

Thanks!! The color is what closed the deal for me. I've seen tons and tons of silver and black cars (and owned tons and tons of them) and this color, as subtle a change as it may be, really does it for me!

Only thin we differ is the front license plate. Looks a lot nicer.

Window sticker lists the color as "Tectite Grey". As for the front plate missing, no, it's not legal, but neither is the wondow tint on the front side windows. 99% of the officers I've run across in SoCal won't bother you about it unless they've already pulled you over for being a jackass AND you act like a fool when they're writing you up. However, there is the occasional guy that'll jerk your chain JUST for the plate or tint. It's kinda' irritating, but not much more than that as it's a correctable violation.
