What exactly are the differences between amg e55 and e500 sport ?

E500..........average mid-size luxury sedan
E55.........exotic like power/off-the-line performance.
Power was nothing like E55.
Airmatic DC Suspension did not cope well with 18" wheels and was neither sporty in S1 and S2 nor really comfortable in Comf setting. I suspect it was tuned with the stock 17" wheel/tire package. The same Airmatic DC suspension is tuned much better by AMG, and it works just as well with 19" wheels!
In the end I sold it and bought the genuine article. It was all show, "a poor man's E55"
Let me see where to start. Here are just a few teasers that can't be had on an E500:
Steering feel (steering and airmatic) tuned by AMG. May sound subtle, but isn't
The Tranny: If you like performance cars, good luck finding a better system, including ANY manual. In sport mode, it thinks and reacts better than a ***** aiming to please!! Always at the RPMs you wanna be!! The manual mode is a TRUE manual mode. You put it in 3rd, and it stays in 3rd. Very nice for road cources when you know you don't want to shift around.
Supercharged 5.4 liter V8. Well, let's just say not much can hang this car from light to light. Displacement + Induction.
Brakes: Make a Fat assed sedan feel like a P-Car
All in all if you really need to ask, then get the E500 because you will never be able to justify the price delta to yourself. If you already have one, then get some AMG rims and pretend it is the same. No harm done.

One is a car the other a toy

Knopp, refered to one as a car and the other a toy. Calling a car a toy can be taken either way. Good or Bad. So I ask him which he considers the toy. As I stated I play with my E55 so to me that is my toy. Others may see a reference of a car being a toy as something bad. A Yugo was commonly referred to a toy in a bad sense. Do you understand now?!!!

Dude, keep your day job. No disrespect, but there was no ADDED humor by your comments. His were pretty clear to the rest of us. The E55 is the "toy" to all of us. Please let it go. I am not bashing, and I don't want to get rolling here.

Now do you understand the dual meanings of calling a car a toy? If not - I tried, but of course you already know everything.
Now you can start "rolling here" since I did not "let it go" like you told me too!
