How to get better straight traction?
I know tires. But is the LSD, etc. worth it? I already have ***, so i don't know how many mods I want to put into it, if all I'm going to do is smoke the tires. I was hoping for a better diff setup (i.e. LSD). Any feedback from guys that have it done??
Vic55: I know your has WAAAY more *** than me, but I was so impressed at how your car lifts the front end on launches and that was w/ 19s. Is that from a combo of all your mods, or the diff?

Lsd !!!!
jangy - On my CLS55-030, which is completely stock, the front end lifts when I accelerate hard and the ESP light comes on very little. In stock form the 55K motor has enough TORQUE to lift the front of these cars, it just has to be transfered to the road, to do it. So, yes the LSD is very important for Hooking up, especialy if the Motor has been tuned to a higher HP out-put. - Bob

I figured it would be some $$, and I don't have any contacts to get the daddy deals; but, I'd rather get more out of what I have than to try to squeeze more power out of it without being able to apply it. I am sure that I will "need" more power AFTER I get the traction thing worked out. I am working on intake for now and simple exhaust mods (replacing "boxes" with just pipes), but that is it. Can you verify for me that EVO has a nice cooling upgrade for the sc? Sorry for the ignorance, but I am pretty new to Benz mods.
Plans for this year: Wheels/rims (2 sets one to drag and one to cruise / prowl), intake / exhaust (maybe as far as headers) / LSD, cosmetics / toys (MBenznl)...
Guess that's it for an unemployed fool, huh??!!

That will do more than a LSD....unless you are only spinning one tire without LSD, which I am sure you are not.

Nope, I am smoking both on the straights. But the thing that Vic55 mentioned about turns makes me want the LSD even more. i hate having to make myself be patient on turn exits before I can really punch it as i don't want to wipe out. The LSD will surely help with letting me put more power down in the sharper part of a curve, won't it?
