Anyone try retro park distance control installation?

if so, what's involved in the process? must you replace the entire $1,300 rear bumper? i regret not getting it. i've already bumped into 3 pillars.

Steve (MBenzNL) will be able to help. Retrofitting a full parktronic system is not a problem.

Just the plastic insert strip. Hardly a full bumper.

retrofit parktronic

Does anyone know how much it is to retrofit the parktronic? what is involved? I need to get it installed on a E63 wagon.

Thanks,
Baron

Adding distronic is easy.

I meant to say parktronic, but distronic can also be added

How easy? Is it something that we could order from the dealer and have them install? Any idea on the cost of parts and labor?

Thanks,
Baron

Dealer is not likely to do it. Since you're in the bay area, you should contact Scorchie (aka Dean) on this board. He should be able to help even though he seems to be MIA at the moment.

Another Option Is To Go See Your Local Higher End Stereo Shops, They Have Aftermarket Sensors That Can Be Color Matched And Look Factory. You Just Don't Get The Lights, But They Could Be Added. They Mostly Only Do The Rear Only Since They Can Wire It Off The Reverse Lights, The Front Are Speed Dependent From The Factory. If You're In The Bay Area Let Me Know I Can Find You A Good Shop.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I contacted Steve on this board and he said it is hard to do on the 07 W211s. Apparently there are no more strips you could take out. I would have to replace the entire bumper, front and rear.

I am fine with just adding the parktronic to the rear, and don't really need the lights. The beeping sound is sufficient.

I disagree. Get the OEM ones.

Contact Steve @ MBenzNL if Dean is missing.
