Do I get the Jangy front grill?
Should I mod the front grill (paint the chrome portion black / obsidian black) on the new ride? I did like the look on the '05, but I am worried about black grill on obsidian black car.
Opinions??
Before we sour my day, I HATE THE CL/CLK look, so that is no option.

I had a black 190E and painted the grille flat black. it was pretty tough-looking, in a RoboCop/Mad Max sort of way. then i painted the grey plastic grille inserts dark blue (behind the black (formerly chrome) blades). that's when things started to get really interesting. was going to change it from blue to deep blood red back in there, but the tranny started to wheeze at me so i sold it before I had a chance.
Obsidian for the most part looks like black that needs a dust-job, but if you're gonna make the change, you'll probably be happiest doing it in the same color as the rest of the car's paint (obsidian in your case).

NICE Kleiv!!! I guess I'd better stop calling that mod the Jangy look!!
Did you paint the entire grill in Obsidian, or just the chrome?
How would you all like to see a little "gun metal" version for the chrome part?

If they don't do it, I know of another spot in Sun Valley that I used last time for a chrome mirror.
Fly Low, it's an actual chrome procedure. I think in the last step it's just dipped into a darker chrome.
Last I heard, some companies were offerring different shades of chrome, available in blue, red, green....

It's not difficult to remove the chrome parts, it took me about 30 minutes to do it. If you are unsure how to do it take the car to a shop and let them do it for you.
I will take som pix when the snow is gone and then post it here.

You have to remove the parts and them paint them. The chrome surface have to be finnished down a bit for the paint to stick properly.
