I know... Dont get me wrong ... i was just having fun

I am one of those guys that likes to try and make big 4 door cars drive well so Camber is a requirement for me. Of course I understand most people dot try to do this to an E55.

for Most .5 or 1 degree negative is just fine.

Can someone please give me either a formal description or a part number for the "crash bolts"? My car is also lowered and wears the inside edge of the tires and causes them to cup, resulting in a really noisy ride at low speeds. I would love to have the crash bolts installed and the car aligned correctly. Thanks.

I already did and the brilliant people at my local dealership had no idea what I was talking about. Did I mention just how bad the service is around here?

I think im just one overly senitive person when it comes to suspensions. I like a car to feel controlled at all times regardless of what I throw at it. I bet my car is similar to you car but i just hate the idea that a car is nearing the bump stop. Plus shocks have less control at the top of their travel so as you get near that bump stop you tend to have less control of body motions.

I think I will set the car around 13.5 front and 13.25 rear and see how that goes. That should be close to the factory .25 fore aft height difference. Not looking for a drag car look here.
My expectations of this car are reasonable at best. I have had an M3, M5, 2 supra turbos, and an Audi S4 which all out handle this car. This car is a bit of a pig IMO. I also have a 996tt so its a bit of a trip after driving one for 3 days and then swapping out. The one thing that has made my car a better handler is the CLS55 steering rack and bushings. You are not overly sensitive IMO you just have high expectations for a 90k auto.

call mercedes of south orlando (407 )367- 2700 ask for parts dept. and explain that another customer has bought these bolts from them, then ask for a part #.if that doesn't work call back same # and ask for armi and tell him the situation;you will probably have to leave a message for him to call you back.

Thats about where my car was before with the Kleemann module. If you are not getting any VW's then cool but they may come down the road.

Good Golly that is a low car!!!

While it looks nice I would have serious driveability issues with a car being that low. Have you been driving the car around town much? Have you had to go over any bumps, speed bumps, dips etc? Your height is so low it makes my car look like an SUV back when I was at 13 inchs front and 12.9 back!!

How does the car drive right now??? Are you pleased? If so leave it alone!

I just think its pretty darn low

We are measuring from the center of the hub (the center of the center cap or MB start) to the fender lip. This method negates any influence from wheel and tire upgrades.

Could you measure your car for us?

yes I have high expectations for the car but not so high that its crazy. I just wish the car were more like an auto M5 with a bunch more torque. An M5 is over 4100 lbs so and E55 should drive equally as well if not better. You can always wish, dream, and try right??

Next time you are up here PM me and I will do the same for my next trip to the OC. Maybe we will have a free moment to go for a spin in your very nicely lowered car.

thanks

2003 E55
Mine is lowered with about 5mm of washers.
Front and back (sport mode) are about 13.4inchs, measured your way.
Don't have bottoming problems and ride in "comfort" is just fine. A bit jiggly in sport (hardest setting - 2003 with 19" wheels)

Does that help?
