Well it appears from the responses here and in the W211 section it's about a 50/50 chance the roof will rattle/creak or be silient like it should. Since I despise rattles, sqeaks and or creaks I'm beginning to wonder if this option is really for me

Mine does squeak, but not always...normally on cold days when I think the seal/gasket around the edge is hard. Otherwise, I too like the look and appearance.

.I know with my 500 after I put the car in drive from reverse I always wait an extra 2-3 seocnd to let the trans fully engage into drive before driving off (seems to be an MB thing as I did it with all my MB's). Is the stumble only when cold?

It's a hesitation VERY similar to the stumble I had getting the blower sorted on the '02. Nothing major, but a little ridiculous for a 100k car.

As for the stumble or hesitation, it's ALWAYS present, so it shouldn't be too tough for them to at least acknowledge it. Problem at Silver Star was A: I didn't buy the car there. and B: There are no codes so everything must be fine.

04 E55 tectite grey/charcol....traded 01 E55
I also have the creak in the pano roof when going over uneven surfaces. The creak started about 1 year after purchase. Currently have 37K miles on the car. 2 1/2 years of ownership and still love driving this car. On going issue with TPM malfunction. Only major problem, after a few months of ownership, air suspension malfunction, repaired under warrenty.

Hopefully FJ is a little more responsive when it goes in for it's first service.

Being brand new with 8 miles on it apparently doesn't make not test driving it a very smart move on my part.

two moonroofs
Is there a difference between the pano roof and the dual front and rear sunroof option. I'm looking to get an '03 E55 and it has what looks like a pano roof from the outside (black rooftop) but from the inside its not one large peice of glass but rather two individual moonroofs. are the pano roofs you guys are referring to a large uninterrupted peice of glass that runs from the front to the rear of the car or is it two moonroofs like i mentioned? is this just what the 2003 pano roofs look like and they're now updated or is this just not a pano roof althogethr?

Also, both shades have to fully open before the front glass can be tilted up or slid open. Not necessarily a big deal, but I miss being able to close the shade (by hand) with the roof tilted open. Otherwise, no noise, no complaints.
