I have a slight problem with the shade rattling when it's open. It's been to the shop and they've fixed it twice now. Hopefully we won't have a third time. I do love the option even with this problem.

I have about 9500 miles on my car and no issues or rattles with the roof. I definately like having the option.

Wish I had the pano roof. If nothing else, just for the black roof. Love that look.

Maybe it's because I have a drop top SL but the pano roof just doesn't do anything for me except add to the cars look. No problems but it would be low on my options list if I could do it all again.

My wife's '06 E55 has the pano roof. She fell in love with it and had it not been for the roof I could have talked her into the '06 CL55 that was at the dealership.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Vic55: Did the roof always creak and did you ever have the dealer check it out?

I take mine to Euro Motors in Germantown. I think they are great and they don't give me crap about the mods.

It sounds like Vic and I have the same problem???

I had an 04 SL500 with the Pano roof. Again, I liked the option. I would not have purchased the car without it. I think it really brightened up the interior of the car.

Only thing I don't like is having to open both front and rear shades fully to tilt open the front. No more closing the shade with the sunroof tilted open.

I live in S. Florida, how's the heat/sun penetration factor with the shade open and closed?

I think it started creaking after about 1 year of ownership, I cant really remember. I am not too picky about it since it only creaks when going up uneven driveways. I never had the dealer check out but I think its about time.

Oh, the pano roof IMO is awesome, I love the contrast of the black roof on my silver car with my black wheels. I think a white car with the pano is the best, especially if you get black wheels. I also have the solar panels which were offered one year only I think. Here in Cali they are awesome.

Is there more or less headroom with the Pano roof?

I have the pano roof and it has always creaked from the beginning when going up my driveway (it has a dip and a bump up, so have to take it at an angle of course). Thought that the creaking sound was normal for tha pano roof... but seems like others have no creaks at all (?)

I have this option on my MY06.

It does squeak when I open it. Also, I think the switch for it is buggy. Sometimes it'll work when I try to open it, but a lot of times, the switch doesn't work. I don't know why they didn't make it with the 'one touch open/close' feature, because you have to hold the switch down to close it. I don't feel like taking it to the dealership because it's very sporadic, and we all know what happens when they 'can't duplicate problem'.

I have it, never use it, and would not get it again. Mine also creaks once in a while. Here in S FL the heat is a big issue, I had roof panels tinted with limo tint to help cut down on the heat. With the shades open during the day you really feel it not so much with them closed but it does add a lot of heat to the car.

I am not a sunroof user so take my opinion with that in mind, but I do like the look of the car with the dark roof. (silver/charcoal) It would be nice if the back panel actually opened all it really is, is a regular sunroof with a skylight for the back seat. Its nice for the ooh ahh factor when you have new people in the car but in the real world its kind of pointless.

Are you saying it squeaks while opening or after it's opened?

I would not have ordered the car with it, but since I'm trying to take advantage of the E55 specials going on this was as close as I could get to the colors, other options and getting one fresh off the truck. I too am in S. Fl but thankfuly don't have to drive very far to my office and I do open my current sunroof often especially this time of year and during those Fl summer nights. So far I've yet to read of anyone taking the car in to see if the creaking can be fixed...I'd really love to know if it can.

I have the pano option and ordered it that way. I never use it (I hate to mess up my flowing, nicely groomed hair ).

The pano does create a distinctive look and I love what it does for the appearance of the car. Oh!! and it never makes a peep!!!!
