Ok Tirerack wont help me out much other than to say the 30 fits better on an E55 but I hope some forum guys have triend this before and could shed some light on the subject.

AMG makes a AMG 2 piece 19 inch wheel wiht both off-sets but the TireRack wheel generator page only shows teh 30mm off-set fitting for the E55 but it shows the 25mm and the 30mm off-set fitting a E500.

The lower number means that the wheel will sit further out correct? Meaning it will sit 5mm or .2 of an inch closer to the fender? Is this correct or do I have it backwards.

I have a chance to get some wheels from a friend at a very low price and hope they will fit my E55. They are the 25mm off-set up front and the 31mm off-set in the back.

I only plan to put 245/275 tires on the car so I wont be trying to make it an issue for fitment.

Will this wheel hit the fender lip on an E55? Will it hit the strut tube?

Thanks for the help.

25mm upfront and 31mm will work perfect.
CEC shows 30 -32mm for rear fitments on E55 class (W211)

Good luck and pics after OK?

ET25 is not a good look on E55 but stock on CLS55. It is a bit of a "beach buggy" look unless your car is totally slammed with a massive negative camber at the front. I think ET30 Front with 245 or 255 rubber and ET 31 rear if you stay at 275/30/19. If you go 285 rear, then ET38 will stop all fender rubbing.

Well I do appreciate the word Rafal. When you say beach buggy look you mean the wheels stick out to much correct?

The friend who has these wheels say that they were on his E500 before and TireRack shows them as a ok fitment for an E500 but not for a E55. If the cars have the same hubs, the same fenders and the same strut tubes why wont the 25mm wheel fit the car? I am not doubting you at all and in fact I was hoping you would respond because I know you have this style of wheel on your car.

I was crossing my fingers that a 25mm off-set would work if I stayed with 245 tires up front but maybe that was wishful thinking! I would not mind a more aggressive stance and the car is "slightly lowered." It does however have the max negative camber available with the "crash bolts" installed.

I can get the 25mm off-set wheels for next to nothing but if they do not work I will just stick with my stock wheels until the next deal appears.

PS -- could you do me a big favor Rafal? I like your ride height on your E55 and was wondering if you could measure your height and post the findings in the Kleemann lowering thread DragonAMG started. I created a thread there for people to post their ride heights and your car is on the top of my list of cars to emulate. The steps for the measuring are discussed in that thread but I am looking for the distance from the center of the hub (center of the Mercedes star) to the fender lip -- front and rear.

Thanks again
