I know some say it's normal for high performance brakes, maybe on track cars but not street one's even though some unfortunately do. I've owned Ferrari's, tubro Porsches etc and none squealed, only this last MB did and none of my MB's before ever did.
I was told by my dealership tech that MB just issued a DTB saying it does have newly designed pads available for noisy cars...not sure if the 55 is included. I was also told by a shop foreman at a very large MB store that one of MB vendor's supplying brake rotors has been having problems with quality control causing vibrations under braking hence the squeal.

believe it or not my infiniti G35 sedan had one of the best brakes, of all the cars I have driven. Even better than my C32 Brembos. The C32's are great, but i think they lack that bite and brake force distribution.
however it had a squeal problem.....
solution: brake cleaner every other day in the morning before going to work. The squeal would disappear for days and return when during the wet and cold weather.
