So what if the M5 is faster than the E55, the new E63 may be faster than the E55 AND the M5....plus the E55 and E63 were designed to be more of luxo ultra high performance car than the M5...BTW the interior of the M5 cannot compete with the E AMG cars in that respect.

I was making a responce to this post.
I also believe the E63 will be faster than the M5 or E55.

It did and the E63 probably will up top but, who cares? Most of us aren't racing to 150mph. It's from a stop light to about 70 or a highway roll up to 100-110mph maybe. BTW I've seen a couple of M5's run at the track, I don't know how you could believe that it would beat an E55 by 24cars. Don't always believe what you see in video's. A lot of things could be going on.

OK, you convinced me. My E55 is a mule, it is not worthy and I should have order the E63. Since the AMG 63 is indeed significantly faster than my mule because you said so, next year I will trade my wife's 2002 E55(the snail mobile) for the CLS63, not another E-class, and this will make my wife very happy. She wanted a CLS55 this year and I am glad she waited. God forbid she gets a junker 55 AMG like mine. So when are you getting yours? You know just talking about it is no fun. Take the plunge and write that fat check to the dealer like many of us do.

I cannot justify going from an 2006 W211 E55 to an 2006 W211 E63 ... but can justify going to a 2008/9 W212 E63TT , and thats more than likely what I will wait for.

This thread cracks me up. Let's go over the facts here....there's the stats that everyone and their grandma already knows about the new e63 including the 0-100km times....great, awesome, superb car.....goes without saying. In my opinion, the e63 should be quicker but only slightly..why? Well, the lower torque will help with the traction....that paired with the better powerband of the NA motor will help with acceleration. Yes, we all know the car is unmoddable etc etc and the e55 is just a chip/pullies away from beating the e63....but I think you guys are all forgetting something here. There are way cheaper options to make cars go fast (aka other cars that go fast and are cheap that benzes dun have much of a chance on)....The mercedes is a LUXURY sedan first and performance sedan second. These cars are just way too damn heavy and pretty much all the mods out there are just bolt ons (very good results of course, but nothing special @ all and to be expected of forced induction)....whereas other cars you can easily transform the vehicle for a fraction of the cost. I'm about 99% certain most benz owners will not feel the .2second difference anywhere on the powerband.....the thing they will feel though for sure is having less torque and it coming on later....now that's personal preference on how people like their cars if you guys want to discuss which is better. -_- The luxury features have basically remained the exact same, the looks is pretty much a very mild face lift (with an ugly badge), and the performance isn't exactly stellar compared to the e55. Yes it's a great car to have if you plan to keep it stock compared to the e55 but that's if you don't got an e55 already in my opinion, not worth it @ all to trade the car in.

Lame video. Why a rolling start? Cause they need to neutralize the E55s massive torque launch. I'm sure the M5 is faster north of 100 MPH, but in real-world stoplight to stoplight stuff, I'll bet it would be pretty close.

It gets really ugly when I include modified E55's so, I won't.

doesn't seem like they did a whole lot of changes, but why mess with perfection, eh?
