Nice!

My speedo only goes to 160 mph. What year did they start coming with 200mph speedo? My C55 went to 200mph and I thought it was funny that the E55 only went to 160mph.

It is worth the wait and you will love pano roof too. I know how you feel. In 1998 when my wife bought a CLK320 and on the way home a check engine light came on. We had to return back to the dealer and left the new car there for couple of days. We did get a gift certificate for the hassle. But be patient and you will enjoy the car.

Your car should have the 200 speedo too, because the 160 speedo
is the stock one every eclass gets.

I don't know why yours doesn't have it.

Dang... This is killing me!!! I was out of town for 10 days and just got back last Saturday... Jangy already passed me and reached the 1000 miles mark, I have yet another <200 miles to go. I tried to rack it up over the weekend while taking my family out but still a few miles short.

I'm coordinating that right now with the dealership. I'm waiting for a call back. It appears they can get the parts in I need, but the primary guy to install them might be off this Friday?!?!?! They need to kick this boy into ...

I'm leaving Thursday, April 27th to Vegas again. Not sure if it was going to be a 1/2 day at work, but I'd gladly make it a full day to join an E55 companion en route to Vegas. Two caravaning, high-performance, 4-door sedans kicking a$$ to Vegas would by hysterical... I wonder how many people would try and join the party.

Well, not sure about Vegas next month, but I would. Or, how about Laughlin? The 40 is a terrific ride..MUCH better than the 15 could EVER be.

I've never been to laughlin. Is that the same route as going to vegas? In any case i'll call you when the time comes near.

What do you suggest for break in treatment? I thought a soft break in was a thing of the past for cars from another era?

Close, but not quite. EXTREMELY easy though. However, instead of PASSING the 40 (to Needles), you take it and drive about the same distance to Laughlin as it otherwise would be to Vegas. However, the 40 is like a ghost town often and is a dominantly STRAIGHT freeway with FEW merges or onramps. It's one of the best freeways I have ever seen in terms of feeling safe "opening a car up."

I saw a total of ZERO cops going to and coming from Laughling on the 40. I believe it's patrolled by aircraft (similar to the 15 in certain areas), but I've not seen a single instance (NOTE--this is NOT to mean that they don't exist, only that I believe risk to be fairly minimal).

Granted, there was ONE part of it that had construction, but when doing a ~140 mile drive, one small area is totally insignificant.

HA! I'm already at 1200 and she only goes on the weekend if it's not raining. Which, is to say, not often lately.
