And the beat goes on.....

Called the dealer to check on my replacement tires and brakes for my new 06 E55; the tires came in from the Tire Rack two days ago and the replacement rotors this morning; well no one looked at the tires until today and as it turns out the Tire Rack shipped 2 of the four tires with the wrong tread pattern, I guess they mixed PS2's and Pilot Sports. So now I'm delayed again...I just want to go from to . The beat goes on...

Hi there. Can you refresh my memory about why you have replacement rotors coming in? Are they an upgrade part, or warranty on stock item? Just curious.

I have an MY06 also, with less than 4000 miles on the odo. I've noticed that the front rotors are getting very discolored, with etching. I have not tracked the car at all. Yet.

The brakes on my new 06 E55 w/ 13 miles on the odo caused severe vibrations in the car and a nasty shimmy in the steering wheel when they were applied. The dealership ordered 4 new rotors; I hope it does the trick as they say...

Update

Correct tires arrived today. Car is supposed to be ready tomorrow afternoon. Providing the vibrations are gone I'll pick it up Friday afternoon...I'll believe it when it happens.

The salesman told me they would and since PS2's are not standard on any MB except maybe for the SLR it made some sense to me they would have to use an outside vendor. As it turned out they did not, I discovered that today; if they would have used the Tire Rack I would have been on my way two days ago.

2014 E550 & some other stuff too...
That is funny hearing that about Tirerack. I do not use them anymore and I would not recommend anyone use them. There are lots of other mail order alternatives with better prices and better customer service. In 1988 Tirerack was it, now they are among heavy competitors that offer better service and better prices.
