For dummies or a bargain?
Have any of you purchased the Certified Pre-Owned Warranty before? Do you think it's worth it if I can get a dealer discount for $1800? My car only has 6700 miles but its an '03. So I got another year and half and my warranty runs out and i'll probably only have roughly 30,000 miles at the most at that time. Will another year of warranty be worth it? And especially at the discount I can get it at, some people have said its a smart move to get it. Does it cover everything in that extra year of coverage or is there some gimmick in fine print that I didnt pick up on?

I don't think it's the same thing as buying a extended warranty. It's just a MB certification and for doing it you get an extra year of comprehensive manuf. warranty or up to 100K miles. I'm pretty sure it's legit since the sales manager offered it to me. And I got the employee discount since my friend works there.

I would do it if you plan to keep it long enough. These are very complex cars, and the chances that your first repair costs once out of warranty will exceed $1800 are quite high.
