Sorry, quick question - Where does the line that tee's into the ic supply or return line go? I assume a reservoir, can you post some pictures of that.

JakPro1 & GTA23109a .. Your parts left Germany last week (I ordered them already) and should be landing here tomorrow.. I should have them in my hands tomorrow evening.
Sound great!!!

I am up for anything you would suggest...all I ask is that whatever we do, it is "stealer friendly". Already got the stealer grillin me as to "what I am asking them to do". If these idiots have to think at all, I'm screwed.

Perhaps I should keep you number handy when they install. I got nightmares of some punky tech calling me, "Duuuuudddddeeeeee, I mean, like duuuuuuuuudddeeeeeee"
No offense to techs on the board of course.

Eclou,

I did the $250 76.2mm stock TB port on my May-03 car. 0% gain. Dyno proven :-(

But, I did not have the butterfly plate enlarged. I should have done that. Not sure which way I will go at this point.

Hang in there Isaac... There are 5 kits going out to various members with different levels of tune. We'll have a good sampling of the performance benefits once they get the kits and dyno them.

I am also waiting to dyno my car. Hopefully I'll be able to get that done soon.. Between my schedule and the temps in Toronto lately, I havent made it to the dyno yet.

Don't care, as long as it dose the job correctly.

Instead of tapping, why not use stainless steel fasteners with nylon lock nuts?

Looks pro, won't fall apart....

Wayne,

Got any pics or a site where I can look this up. I want this kit to look as pro as possible! Want to make it the best out there. Was going to order ARP stainless bolts.

Any decent Food or Medical grade stainless will be fine, make sure that the lock nuts can handle 150ºC +, I'm sure most nylon lock nuts can handle this.

ARP = expensive brand name... Up to you...

VRUS:

I'm in agreement here with Finny. Whichever way you choose, as long as it does the job equivalent to AMG engine builders themselves.
Simply want it to be 100% in quality of fit & finish! How you choose to make that happen I leave with you. - Thanks for the R & D on this!!

Being that I'm a visual type of person, and I'd have to see what all the options are before making any decisions on tapping or bolting of the throttle body to the inlet piece.

I'll just let Vic decide... "it's his party"

The more "stock-appearing" you can make it, the happier I'll be. As long as it doesn't compromise power or course.

Lock Nuts

Look at the Plastic insert , if it is Clear ? White . It will not handle the heat. Look for a Green or Red pastic insert . If not, you could use something like the Stamped head style (Used on the Exhaust Manifold studs)Here's some pictures of nut types

How did the machine shop convince you NOT to enlarge the throttle plate at the same time? That is kind of like getting a pizza with no cheese or sauce.

Thanks for all the input everyone!

I will talk to the machine shop about a different idea I have and if he is ok with it, I'll get one done up and show it to you guys.

Well.. that takes care of that.. Stopped by the machine shop today and passed some ideas by him.. He shot them all down.. Said we *HAVE* to do the adapter plate to make it clean and proper.

Oh.. He did say I could get a completely new casting made of the inlet if I wanted.. LOL... Yeah.. Maybe if I sell 50 or 60 of these things I might consider that..

Anyways guys.. You'll get exactly what you saw on my car. Parts are here from Germany. Got the call this afternoon.. I am going to try and swing by and pick them up tomorrow if I can or Thursday at the latest.. Machine shop is busy until Friday anyways, so they will be dropped off on Friday for the machining process.

I'll take some pics of all the nice parts in a big group before I drop them off for machining.

MachC5 (Thanks James!!) has joined in and sent the money.. His parts are on hold..

Finny & Kens-E55.. No pressure, but, Are you guys still in?? If so, please send the funds over so I can have the last 3 put together and shipped over here. The quote I received was for QTY 5 so if we dont allocate 2 more I will have to raise up the price a bit. The reason I got a quote for 5 was because there were 7 people who wanted one and I figured 1 or 2 would change their mind..

Thanks everyone!
I WANT one of these!! SEND ME A PM, dammit!

Where've you been for the last week?? Holidays? LOL..

I'll PM you instructions.. Hopefully they will be kind and just ship 1 over. I may put yours into the queue and wait a bit to see if anyone else wants one so I can have them shipped together.

I am getting killed on the shipping & duties so I need to put them all together if possible.

PM on its way.

*** IMPORTANT NOTICE ***

I am getting killed on these duties, brokerage and taxes from Germany importing into Canada. Ontop of that, I got majorly screwed with the US/CDN conversion so I am going to have to ask for all funds in CDN from now on..

One thing I didnt know was that Paypal (ontop of their regular 3% commission for receiving money) also takes 3% off the EXCHANGE of money. Instead of giving me the 1.143 US/CDN exchange, they only gave me 1.113.

ANYONE THAT WANTS ONE OF THESE KITS:

Please send me a paypal for $2550CDN + 3% paypal fee = $2625 CDN to VRUS1@HOTMAIL.COM.. That works out to $2266 USD.

If for some reason I am able to order them in bigger quantities and reduce my costs, I will gladly send back some of the money or put the extra money towards the shipping of the product.

Thanks!

JakPro1 & GTA23109a,

I have your 80mm TBs, Y-pipes and gaskets in my hands..

The supercharger inlets and remaining 3 TBs and associated parts haven't landed yet from Germany. They should be here today or tomorrow.
