For those that attended the AMG Challenge
I'd really like to know if ANY of the factory cars suffered from "supercharger shutdown", especially since all these cars were driven quite hard?

No WAY!! The drag strip and the road course would be the two spots where the SC would be used the most and I can tell you that ALL of the cars were running as fast in the afternoon as they were first thing. It was definitely something that people were talking about as we were really trying to "Challenge" the AMGs. The best (or worst) I was able to get was the Red Brake Temperature warning sign. It was in an E55 on the road course. We were practicing hard brakes and strong turn ins, so it is an exaggerated use. I still did about 3 more laps after the warning light came on and all I noticed was a VERY slight fade in the brake feel. Pretty impressive, actually.
The SC cars pulled ALL day!! I was really impressed. The CLS55s sounded soooo sweet and deep throaty!
One thing, though.... the temp was about 75 max, so maybe not hot enough to be a problem.

AMG Challenge Cars
Got to give a big thumbs up to AMG dependability.
Considering how hard all those cars got pushed on Friday.
Never saw a real serious problem with any of the cars.
All of them stayed on the track the entire day.
Only issue I saw was with one of the SLR`s
They had it out on the "Timed Autocross" course at the end of our
session in the morning. It got stuck in second gear?

Not than mine since I have the resinators off, but that is kind of what they sound like. The E55s were much quieter. The main difference was in the resonance, but it was a notable difference. The SL55 sounded somewhere in between the CLS and E.

been to 3 AMG challenges over the last two years and never noticed any SC shutoff. One of them was at Homestead in Miami and it was WICKED HOT. Never had this issue in my car when I had it, and I drove it very hard.
