What is "schedule C" service???
My 2006 E55's dash cluster is showing "Schedule C" in 30 days message over the weekend. What is is? I can't seem to find the schedule C in the manual. I have about 1700 miles on my car, and I took delivery in April 5 this year.

A SL55 delivered 8/18/07, and an E55 wagon delivered 5/11/05
The C service is $370 ( I just had it). Your car is nowhere near being due for that. Your due for the 1st (free) inspection service if you had not already done it.
At 1year/10,000 miles you get a B service, at 2years/20,000 miles you get the C service. These are basically oil change, change wiper blades, check fluid, and an inspection (lets find something that we can charge for ). Wolf

You can access the instrument cluster which will tell you what is included in "C". It will say US service 3,5,9 or something. In the service booklet with the car is a detailed description of what is included under the numbers. Cumbersome system.

Actually, from my experience, the A and B services are on alternating 10k intervals. One's huge, the other's pretty big too.
Schedule C service is not in the manual because it only comes up once: it's essentially a look-see at the systems and components, coupled with an oil change, and takes place around 2,000 miles. Most people here buying these cars rather than leasing them are gonna change the oil at around that time anyway because, well, it's the thing to do with a new engine. MB, without telling anyone, has this service thing come up so you'll go in and have it done.
Before I knew what C svc was and before the light came on in my car, I went and had the oil changed at around 1700 mi. (wanted to do around 1k-1500 but couldn't find the time). It was kind of annoying to get called in for service only to find that this was really the only substantive thing involved in the C svc.

Thanks for responding. I spoke to my SA and he told me just to reset the computer by following the manual. I will change the oil as some of you recommended. I just found out my car was built on Oct. 25, 2005 and it had been sitting in the VPC until April 2006 when I bought the car. Thank god I don't have any problem with brakes, steering or anything else as some of you have experienced.
