Orange peel is hideous on the lower half of my car. Requires total strippage of clear coat to buff/wet sand out. Maybe someday. I am seriously disappointed with MB paint quality. Dealer offers NO solution or compensation, believe me I have tried to no avail. I wanted to show the shine in that particular photo, not the orange peel...oh well

Looks awsum. Orange peel is usually a tad worse down low on the car. Not for the faint of heart but there is a product called Micro Mesh that goes from 1600 up to 12,000 grit. I wet sand with it. I have used this stuff for years. When you get to 12000 all you have to do is hit it with a polish and wax it. There is not a lot of film on these cars, or any other late model for that matter so you need to take your time and be careful and use a good lubricant or keep the hose running on the finish. I start with 3600 and work my way up. Very time consuming but it works. You cant use a lot of pressure when you are working. Let the Micro Mesh work. Just don't try to get it all the peel out. The object is to try and level it out as much as possible.

Blue is definitely my color, but it's not me in the picture. That's Jon from www.perfectionauto.net See his website for package & pricing info. He does excellent work and is worth every penny.

To remove orange peel extensive wet sanding is needed and that's not something I feel I could offer in my current "mobile" setup.
jrocket - feel free to check out the site, but a lot of my work is tailored specifically to each vehicles needs. Pete's full Zaino detail (shown in the pictures) was part of a special 3 month detailing package I offer. The detail included the rim detail (polish and sealant), interior detail, leather clean / condition and two coats of Zaino polish (to make 4 total on his car). Let me know if you have any questions.
Enjoy the pics!

Wetsanding! That's it, man I'd love to learn how to do it. Perhaps over the summer I'll give it a shot.
Pete, I forgot to congrat you on the 'new' car It looks beautiful!
Got a pic of your sound setup?

be proud of your orangepeel! all german cars have it from the factory, at least my bmw had it and now the cls55 has some. its when you take it to the repair shop to get fixed and they wet-sand it afterwards that you don't have the orangepeel anymore. If you don't have it, it can look like its been repainted!

Proud of my paint defect? No way.

Very nice job. Nothing better than a clean MBZ and a sunny day. Just did my 380...claybar, three step. Life is good.

I am 99.99% sure they are the OEM center caps. John @ CCW had the wheels specifically made for my car. I have the stock wheels in my garage and there are no center caps on them. You can ask John about the SP500 caps to be sure.
