Cruise control limit & Vmax

Hi guys does anyone know if the cruise control is restricted by Vmax? Got my car back from the dealer and I want to know if my ECU was reflashed. Tried setting cruise control above 250km/h but couldn't, so does this mean that my de-restricted ECU was reflashed?

Thats a diff system to the ecu delimit. The speedtronic wont go past 250km/h even if you had a delimit done.

Seems pointless to get a delimit if you cant test it yourself.

The speedotronic will only operate if is switched on ...

Switch it off and you will get >250kmh.

Thanks steve.

And now my dealer tells me that even if my ECU was reflashed, my de-limit would still remain! Oh man, looks like I'll have to wait for the technician to return and ask him myself ...

I was told that the delimit is a "ghost" program that overrides stock ecu settings - and thats why its undetectable and not affected by updates ... at least thats the marketing speech I got from a local tuner in UK.

On various cars the EEPROM settings of the ECU are more and less editable by dealer diagnostic. The full set of registers is only open to a professional tool which is stand alone.

There is no ghost or otherwise. What the hackers do is find one example of the delimit and then sell that downloaded firmware for some insane price.

It is no more expensive to do than a firmware flash uprade. It is simply unfortunate that so many companies make it out to be something really special. Which it is not.
