EvoSport Rotor Weight Savings
I finally had my EvoSport rotors installed and weighed the stock ones to compare. I have the grooved Evo rotors and my stock had 22,000 miles on them. Here are the results per rotor:
...................Stock..............EvoSport.... ......Weight Savings
Front..........33.8 lbs.............23.6 lbs...............10.2 lbs
Rear...........21.2 lbs.............14.0 lbs.................7.2 lbs
With my 19 inch CCW wheels I now saved 13.2 lbs on each front corner and 9.2 lbs on each rear corner for a total of 39.8 lbs unsprung weight! Very happy am I. Now I need to get it to the strip.

Thats awesome, anything to get some weight out of these phat boys!
It will be interesting so see if there are any time differences. Do you notice any seat of the pants difference at all?
where else in these cars can we shed some weight?

Very nice!!! The drilled EVO's weigh about the same, 23lbs front and 14lbs rear. Mine are going on tomorrow, as well as work on the recall issues. Also, the latest and greatest K2 software will be installed. I hope to get to the track on Friday. I pray I see some real world differences with this latest upgrade.

.......it is just amazing that the stock rotors weigh that much. The C32 rotors weigh 22lbs and I though that was very heavy. 33 lb for a rotor is insane. The W210 E55 rotors by comparison weigh 18 lbs

I corrected the chart. When I made it up I used spaces which didn't take so now there are periods. The savings is per rotor not total front and total back. Hope this is clearer now.
Jspeed, I think asking EvoSport is the safest thing.

Slotted and drilled? Is that what they consider the Gen II's? For some odd reason Im thinking they are having a difficult time supplying the demand for these kits?Am I wrong here. The last GB took forever for people to get their brake kits.

I'd assume the weight is less than or comparable to the Gen Is. They saved a good 10lbs on the fronts and about 5lbs on the rears. Not bad.

Brembo Grand Turismo BBKs
Hey guys,
Are there any advantages of getting the Brembo GT BBK's over the Evosport rotors only? Obviously, they are a lot more expensive, but would be considered if there is a notable improvement.
Are there major differences in the Brembo rotors versus the Evosports? How about the AMG/Brembo calipers versus the Brembo GTs? Is the overall Brembo package even lighter than the stock AMG calipers/Evosport rotors?
Thanks for any feedback.
Tony
DSC, thanks for posting the weight savings.

Yes,they are.A while back they did a group buy in here for 1500.00 a set.Only draw back I have seen is they take forever to get them. You would have to call down to Evo to check stock, but from what Ive heard they are out right now.check for yourself just to be sure though.
GROUP BUY time EVO!

I do not think that Brembo has any rotors that are a direct fit on the E55. I think you'd have to go calipers and rotors. it is definitely a nice setup, but much more expensive than just rotors.
If you know of any other source for all 4 rotors, let me know and I'll follow up.
