RS4-bore-kill

entering fwy on ramp slow and easy from light and see audi pulling up fast in rear...as approached, barely gave me enough room to merge. two you college kids in lowered/tricked rs4. anyway, as i blinked to get left onto fwy he did same in straight-did not bother to look, but as soon as i saw his nose pull forward at about 45mph and climbing, just mashed it-the 55 just lunged like freight train. w/in 5-6 seconds, the rs4 just let me go. i slowed a mile ahead and rs4 from my rearview just stayed at spd limit sucking up 55 exhaust. wish had ecu+pulley for this, may have been more amusing. never try and pull on cars, just enjoy driving her and not worrying about anyone else. however, if safe and distance ahead, will not allow anyone to try and walk her. it's interesting, but even a lot of the exotics out here do not try and pull on the 55-most just let her be.

I had no idea the RS4 was in the US. If so, would love to meet up with one soon.

At times I wish I had a E500 or 350 badge on the trunk. There has been so many times when a pcar ferrari etc has come flying up on me and never wanted to play at the next light. Most might look over and just shake their head "no thanks". The only times I have a little fun is if I was behind one when they take off. (The expression in their eyes from their review mirror is priceless its even better when you walk by them) except for the one run in with the M5, that was heads up.

You need to be careful when playing with young kids in hot cars. Last week I had two teens in a Viper GTS tailing me (I have a 2003 E55). I nailed it to about 75 just to put a little distace between us, then backed off. Suddenly I see this kid nail the Viper and he passes me and continues WOT in traffic. He was well above 100 and climbing. If someone had switched lanes, it would have been lights out.

I hear that . . . we have an overabundance of dumbass kids near me too. With school just recently letting out for summer, it's been even worse. I had some assklown in one of those turbo subaru things (loaded with about 5 of his buddies) yell "V8s suck" at me while waiting at a traffic light. Funniest part of it was . . . I was in the left-turn lane. Once our lights turned green, I waited for a second while he nuked his clutch trying to launch all that weight then went blazing down the street at about twice the speed limit.

Those types of comments REALLY P!SS me off! Its just such a dumb thing to say and really shows the mentality of a person. Back in Australia i always get the same comments but the other way around (i drive 6cyl Skylines) and to have some feral yell at you "GET A V8" or "Jap P.O.S." when im cruising my immac 10sec GTR or 11sec GTS just gets me going! Especially because not only do i love v8's too, i own v8's!!! And the POS comment is just as bad, as the Aussie cars that run their holy v8's are mostly complete POS's even when comparing a new one to my 10 year old skylines!

Oh in regards to the dumbass kids about, i was once one of them anyone else?! lol One thing that is very worrying however is that the youth of today have an easily accessible abundance of power and machinery that you could only dream of when i was a young hoon!

I dont think he was flaming anyone - quite the opposite.

I won't dont think any response is warranted to the "Brit reject" comment.

Lol. Americans are Brit rejects too. So are South Africans. Just because Australia was a prison continent doesn't make them inferior.

By the way, what makes the English so superior in the first place? They are just people.

PMS.... oh jk jk jk

Gotta love the narrow minded Aussie v8 owners though (holden ss, hsv, ford xr8, fpv, EVEN xr6 turbos), they think their v8 = our v8. Then stay start badmouthing that supercharger (*shrug*it came with the car.. im stock! no one told you to mess with a stock car in the first place), on that note, cant wait til that NA 63 comes out.

Yes I was a teenager once and probably even more stupid than most of these kids. I grew up in the muscle car era. Friends had Hemi's, 427 vettes, and such. Not as fast as today's hot cars and twice as dangerous. (As Ralph Nader would say, "unsafe at any speed".) So it would have been a big mistake (for us) to have a hot car play with us also. Fortunately, I survived that era, and can speak from experience when I say teenagers in hot cars are trouble.

SoulBladeZA you are 100% right...

At great risk to my future on the forum, and at the risk of becoming an easy target ( ) I'll go ahead and admit it I'm a transplanted Brit. And believe me from personal knowledge there's nothing superior about Brits. We are just as clever or stupid, bright or dumb, nice or nasty as any other group. In my experience human beings come in all these types regardless of where they're from. Former british areas like Canada, USA, Australia etc are now their own cultures completely seperate from the British. If you want proof, they like to beat us at the games we taught them.

back on topic
The RS4 is a great little car - lots of fun to drive. But like the older bigger RS6 it doesn't have the TQ to compete. I loved the RS6 (I live in NE and that AWD was a big attraction, but I got a Denali as 2nd instead, needed boat hauler too) but it did not compare to the E55 period.

As to people "not even trying" to race when they see the badge - here in my area too many people are ignorant of what an E55 is and try to cut you or race or whatever passes for "beating you" all the time (like they're thinking "you're just some old geezer in a merc"). The result is that sometimes you just have to get away from them all with a quick burst of acceleration. Maybe they are learning...one at a time
