Auto Motor Und Sport M5 vs E63 comparision

What are your thoughts on the handling of the E63 vs the E55. We have a had a little friendly debate going about this. Since this is a magazine article that who's results you believe............do you also believe that that E63 has improved handling? Again I don't really care one way or the other as I own neither car, but wondering if you'll accept the acceleration part of the result as valid but not the handling part.

should be interesting to see what the E63 does on the dyno.... I'm guessing it won't make more than 425rwhp on average....

Even if it is screwy, this the 2nd article that picked the E63 over the M5.....first being the Automobile mag comparison.
P.s few days ago drove my friends 645ci for a while... what a great machine... active steering is the sweetest thing ever.... I wanna test drive the m5!

E55's motor is simply a monster off line.
I am glad that i told my friend to scoop up a CLS55 instead of waiting for CLS63.
I have said it before, E55 is more useful in everyday driving. M5 to me is still a better car, but are totally useless in everyday driving (simply you don't have the ability to enjoy its power). I wonder how much weaker the E63 engine is at low end.

My contention is now and has been since spring of 2003 that the W211 is THE BEST handling sedan that MB has ever put out. Also, when the new 5 body was introduced, the W211 was proclaimed as the better handling. Now mags are sayoing the E63 handles better than the M5?? Or Just that it handles better (implying better than E55). I say check yourself on the E55 first and do not compare an '03 to the new M5 or an E63. Be fair.

and the M5 is quicker to every speed measured.

I dont see how they could rate the E63 better ...... 2 second difference to 200km/h is around a 55 meter gap ... so ~13 car lengths ... ???
EDIT: It gets worse my cacls were for a 1 second gap so at 200km/h you covering ground at 56m/s and the gap is 2 seconds so 110m ... so ~23 car lengths ???? WTF thats allot of real estate right there ...
Is mid range grunt so impressive it makes the slower car better when the E55 arguably has better mid range grunt...... wierd ???
So I call this article
The figs and conclusion just dont add up ....
definately don't add up ,that many car lengths would never happen unless someone got on the brakes .i've run bikes that are 2 seconds faster than my car and they don't even pull on me that many lengths.numbers are numbers;in the real world this will never occur.just more M5 PROPAGANDA,now that they know e55 owns them they go picking on the 63

I'll agree that the numbers don't look very good for the E63 (if they what they are, then what a catastrophe MB has created) but as someone pointed out on the C32 vs C55, from that alone prior to release everyone thought the 55 would eat up the 32 but was not the case. Not really surprised at the outcome, heck I don't care as I'm still gonna go look at the E63 for my daily/bad weather car...I still love what MB has done with the 6.2 motor.
