Exhaust?

I have been doing this forum stuff for a while. Just took a plunge on my first AMG car.

I hate to be the noob, but i guess we all were (are) one at some point....

The first mod i want to do is exhaust.... I want somthing that actually produces some gains and sounds sick.

What are our options?

I am already aware of the eisenhause exhaust, however i dont really want to drop close to 4k for exhaust.

I see in a few of your signatures that there are a few diffrent types out there.

Please post a picture of your exhaust, and tell us what it is, and how it sounds!

Thanks
Jordan

There arent too many choices right now:

Anything that you purchase that is a catback system wont give you any performance gains. It purely for sound.

To get any HP increase you have to get a less restrictive front section with freer flowing cats. There are only 2 choices right now: Supersprint to the tune of $12,000 or Kleemann to the tune of $11,000.

I built a full 3" stainless exhaust for myself and am having it copied to 2.75" as we speak. I found 3" was overkill for the motor so I am reducing the piping diameter. It will have race cats and be mandrel bent. I will have it ceramic coated once it is built. Should be ready in a few weeks. It was $2,400. I will do the dyno testing once it is complete.

Id say do a search since there are probably 6 posts on exhausts in the last few weeks. I dont think you will obtain gains from an aftermarket exhaust on a 55k engine- I have yet to see one person post a true gain. Its truly for visuals and sound. Oh BTW Eisenmann is less than 3k. Just in case you didnt see mine, here is a link yet again, to some vids:

Thanks for the quick reply guys. The eisenmann sounds sooo sick. How does it sound with just the muffler and stock piping + headers?

Yeah.. Vic's car sounds awesome with that exhaust.. Keep in mind he has the secondary cats cut out and no resonators either.

But, Eisenmann seems to be the choice for the best sound.
