Emergency decision....Help needed!!!

Sorry to post in this section but I trust the opinions of you guys.

I am about to sign a check for a loaded Lexus IS350 (for my wife) and wanted to get a few opinions from the gallery.

I looked at the BMW 5 and 3 series but I cannot warm to the design. I also looked at Audi S4 and A6 but I think the Lexus looks better and offers more features. Also, we have had a number cars from BMW and Audi but never a Lexus.

Any thoughts are appreciated before I sign the deal.

I think the Lexus IS350 is the best bang for the buck. Believe it or not, I almost bought that car in between the C55 and E55.

I love it too.. and if it weren't for the fact that we needed an SUV type vehicle in the family, I would have bought one for my wife also.

Great car in my opinion!

Why not the Infiniti????

Hi,
Here's my 2 Cents. The Lexus is a very nice car no question. Why not look at the Infiniti M35/45. Also very nice and around the same price. The bells and whistles are very similar but I think the M35 has a nicer stereo and navigation system that is totaly voice activated. I test drove one and was very impressed. Check it out. I acutually like it better then the Lexus. Good Luck.

They (Lexus) are actually going to take our FX45 in on trade. I did look at and test drove the M45 but decided we don't need another large sedan. Also, there is just something about its styling that is slightly off.

I would go for it... I am about to get rid of my CL55 and buy the IS350 as a DD.

Rock,
Here is a list of cars in that price range exluding Audi and BMW: Acura TL, Cadillac CTS, Chrysler 300C SRT-8, Dodge Charger SRT-8, Infiniti M35, Lincoln LS, Mercedes C class, Saab 9-5, and Volvo S60 or S80. I think the Lexus is a great car but I'm also impressed with the 300c SRT-8 and the Volvo S60/80. Just food for thought. The 300c is big but a great bang for the buck and has a great engine. Also it's basically a Mercedes. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I guess I'll be the bad guy then. I do not like the looks of the new IS. Reliability wise, they have worked out the bugs. Lexus is GREAT. What about a GS? They look so much sleeker to me. I assume the IS will handle / perform better, but is that what wifey wants?
Other than that, go ahead and do it. I also do like the Acura, just from a value perspective.
Let us know what you get and post lots of pics!!!

If you get the IS, is it a stick or auto? If she likes sticks, I would second the CTSv.

Go for it

I like the IS ... when I was looking at the Infiniti M class and the the Lexus GS class I didn't really like the GS.

Wow Jangy!! I'm really suprised you posted. I thought you were spending most of your time on the "I Hate Jangy" threads.

PS The GS is too big and the IS is better looking to my eyes.

If you do like the IS looks, then do it. They are great cars. Lexus service is bar-none the best. Also, even though it has all the gadgets most of the bugs are already worked out, so i don't see you having reliability issues.

Hehe, you know my jeckle and hyde type. I love having hater posts and technical ones. this place is so much fun.....

I agree, I had the M45 sport loaded with all options, very nice car, but slow, and kind of ugly..... traded it in for the E55..... I rode in my neighbors IS350, very nice mix of performance/luxury.... It didn't feel as quick as I thought it would be, but I figure I'm just used E55/Viper speed.... I think there is an IS500 up soon??

- Navigation System/Mark Levinson® Premium Audio System Package
- Intuitive Parking Assist
- Rain-sensing intermittent windshield wipers with mist cycle
- Electrochromic (auto-dimming) outside mirrors with auto tilt-down in reverse
- Bi-xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps
- Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS- Perforated leather-trimmed interior
- Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column
- Lexus Memory System for power driver's seat (except lumbar) outside mirrors and steering wheel
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Illuminated doorsill scuff plates
- Power rear-window sunshade
- 18-in alloy wheels
- Preferred Accessory Package
- All-weather floor mats

Thanks again for making the decision easier.

I guess I am little late but nice job, I like the IS and if you lived out on the left coast I could have hooked up but I am sure you got a nice deal.

Congrats! Did you get a nice discount on your IS? The stealers in SD are offering them at $2500 off MSRP.

Great car, Rock - I'm sure she'll love it.

What color interior? Caution - if it's light, be careful wearing jeans - the seats can pick up the dye (as in my wife's Ecru interior LS430).

I was able to get $2,000 off but they also took my FX with six months left on the lease

Beowulf,
It has the black interior. I love the light colors but they do not generally agree with our winters.
