Anyone Know How To Remove The Chrome Trim...

On the doors and the front/rear bumpers. I tried pulling on them with no luck.

i wouldn't mess w/them.i don't like them either, but they will break if you try and they are hard to paint and actually stay painted.if you get aftermarket wheels w/polished lip they tie in nicely.at night they look the worst because the chrome gathers more light and it looks like a damn pinstripe.

You can do it two ways. One is to pry them out and break the little hooks that they are in held in by. Then you will need to get new ones and paint those.
Another and actually not that hard is to take the front and rear bumper strips off and use a screwdriver to free the clips. The same can be done on the doors, but you have to take the panels off (harder).

Lastly, i know of a guy that used parafin wax sheets taped to his car and had the trim powdercoated while still on.

Let me know how hard it is or if it looks good. I wanna eventually go all black.

But yours is silver. What color you thinking of going with? Silver vs chrome?

Just as a suggestion, don't use a screwdriver to pry those off. Use a plastic wedge to avoid scratching the paint.

Oh man, i am sorry if I implied getting a crew driver ANYwhere near paint. I pry the strips off by HAND. The strip comes off easily (ala replacing with the euro bumper strips). Then you use the scredriver on the inside that is not painted. And you only touch the plastic chrome piece. Hope it helps and thanks for the catch.

Oh, lol, I re-read your post. Good for clarifying. I'd hate to see someone out there prying on their bumper with a screwdriver trying to get those pieces off!!

For those that don't like the chrome stuff, you can replace the trims with Classic trim level trim pieces and they don't have the chrome strips.

Yes... And all the emblems as well. I also did this with my last couple M3's.

Good looking M3. Blacking out the emblems will definitely look sweet. I've done it to my car, here are some pics https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/151162-hre-840r-s-finally-arrived-some-pics.html#45

Wasn't sure how the grill would look blacked-out, but after seeing those M3 pics, I'm sure it would look sweet.... coupled with a black CF hood
