E63 - Cls63 - Clk63 & Dtm
I was at Laguna Nigel yesterday and test drove the E63. The bottom line is I am NOT SOLD on it. Off the line is no where close to the E55 but at 80-120 it pulls lots harder than my E55. The exhaust system sounds better then the stock E55 (nice low rumble sounds). Here're some pictures:

wow.. you got to take it to 120?
thanks for the awsome pics. So far most of the E63's i have seen in North America have been Black.
I can't wait to see a White one with black interior.

Funny. I was there 3 days ago. Saw the same cars and drove the E63 also. All I can say is I am glad I got my E55 in March. This is what I thought the E63 would be like and I made the right choice five months ago.

Guys,
The 6.3AMG engine are build for top end just like the M5. So of course, it wouldn't feel any much faster then the old sc engine because it got about 100 lbs of torques less plus it not even break-in yet. But the 6.3 engine will definitely pull and pass the sc engine all the way to top speed with no problem. You guys have seen the E55 vs M5, after 100 mph, the M5 just left the E55.

Actually I know Vadim pretty well, I test drove a Cl65 on Thursday but the E63 was not ready yet. I know one thing, that CL is scary fast. I even had Vadim telling me to slow down once I hit 135mph!!

How much is the CLK DTM?
The CLS63 looks exactly like the CLS55 except for the badging. I can't wait to see what MB will do to the CLS come facelift time!

a lot of owners coming back from the AMG challenge are loving the CLK63... apparently its a more fun car to drive, can be thrown around in turns like its nothing

How does it handle and more importantly, how does it "feel" compared to the E55? Unless I missed it most of the quick test drives that folks have taken focuses on the acceleration differences between the two cars. I'm curious if MB took of some of the handcuffs they've had on AMG regarding this. Can't say I've read every review but most I've read about the 63 cars focus on the engine. The one article I did read in Evo had the same complaint as far as feel/handling.

Not sure if its the typical cabrio lack of stiffness issue, or something else at play, but it was literally unsettling to try and hang with the bogger boys. Just my $0.02
Great looking car though and pretty wheels. Good exhaust note but nothing like the new CLS63 which has an amazing sound (they did not have an E63 there so cannot comment.)

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG

I have driven CLK Cabs several times over the last 5 years and have been disappointed in the torsional rigidity of the chassis. The coupes on the other hand are stiffer but still not as stiff as the E/CLS. Danny, what's your experience?
