doesn't get any better than that... welcome to the wagon family.

WOW!! Gorgeous wagon. Yes, they are faster in a line due to the added rear weight (even without groceries). I love it. The wagons are such a specialty car that they stay soft. That is the main reason why MB hass not been able to offer better lease rates to get them out. Better for those of us that love them, wooohoooo. If I didn't already have an E, I'd go get an E55 Wagon just based on your pics. I almost forgot how much I like them. You planning on any other mods? Even a tint?

I put a medium tint on already, but when I shot the photos heavy sunlight was coming through the windows. As far as mods go, almost every car I've owned has been heavily modded. Hopefully I won't go too crazy with this one.

Thumbs up

That's just replaced the RS6+ as my favorite wagon! Great color and those 65 wheels are some of the very best on the market.

This car should make every high-end potential SUV buyer rethink his/her choices if significant ground clearance isn't a necessity.

I want to buy an E 55 AMG wagon. Currenty I have a triple black M-3 convertible. I would like to add a wagon to the stable but can't even get my hands on one to test drive in the Chicago area. DO you think the E-55 AMG sedan (plentiful) would be a comparable ride to test? What differences can I expect in the wagon. I would like to drop it a bit but do some city driving too. Is yours a 2006? I may be looking at last years model for $$ sake.

Congratulations on owning the most beautiful car in its class.

The wagon doesn't have 4WD/AWD -- in the AMG model line-up only the "SUV's" (G, GL, ML, R) have it - a big consideration for many....

In addition it is in actuality only a 4-5 seater - just like the sedans. Yes one can obtain a third, rear-facing seat -- suitable for children only. Point is? The SUV models also give one additional adult pasenger carrying capacity (G-5+, R-6, GL-7)....

But that doesn't detract from what a great car the wagon(s) is. I have done both the E55 sedan and wagon - and prefer the wagon.

To get the best deal you will have to call many dealers to see what they have in stock, and what colors they have. As far as driving, the wagon feels a little heavier through the steering wheel than the sedan, but the wagon seems to be noticeably faster than the sedan. Most of the wagons come with the third row seat as far as I know, but I never use it, so I just fold it down flat.Good luck on the hunt. There are some greeeaaaaat deals on wagons right now.

Thank you so much for your response. You had mentioned before that it is possible to get 12-18 off sticker. I still think I have to go with a 2005. Do you think that is unwise in this market.
I only know of a black wagon in the South....no dealer in the Chi area has one.
Is there a way to do a national dealer search besides cars.com?

Again, appreciate the help.

Are you planning on leasing or buying? If you're going to lease, your payment will be better on a new wagon. If you're going to buy, then you have more options.

I always buy outright. Never had a lease....just a mortgage!
Don't expect I will ever see the deal posted in March by FastWagon for 66 k.
I was out of the country. Also, it was silver. After seeing your black, I'll never go back.

There were a couple of black wagons on ebay a couple of days ago. You should be able to get a fairly low mileage car for around 66k-69k.

I'm going to have to let you drive my hard bargain when I find the right one.
Or, at the very least, I will have to quote you in negotiations! Thanks for your continuing help. The only bad part of acquiring the wagon is that I will have to sell my triple black 03-M3 -- it IS a convertible but I can't justify having them both. My other car would have to be sensible and more family oriented....maybe a Cooper convertible to offset the AMG wagon. Would really like a 442 but that would be totally nuts.

I might be. Let me know what you are asking for it. Are you still in Seattle?
