Looking for the Silver E55 that ran against me today in Southern Cal
While this is my first post, I have been reading MBW forums for several years, and I am a big fan of AMG cars.
I am looking for the gentleman who ran against me today from 0~80mph, 80mph~0mph in Southern Cal. I gave you a thumbs up and you nodded, you will probabaly recognize my car in my signature.
While we both know the results, you looked really shocked as you probably thought I was stock.
Quite frankly I was shocked as well, as I thought I could have done at least a little bit better consider my modifications and power to weight ratio. 371rwhp/2900lbs. I have had many prior experiences running against other cars such as C6s, SVT Cobra, Supra, Evo, Porsches, etc.
Your E55 is a freak, looks really aggressive. I know its a speed freak come right out of box. I just had to ask, do you have any mods or is it just stock?

Nice Black E55 you got yourself. I frequent Crystal Cove, let me know if you see me.
The stance, the quad tips, the power, presence, sound, unmistakeable, able to match 0~60mph in 4.1~4.3sec is no joke.
I do not mean to be disrespectful at all. In fact nothing be highest respect for the E55. That Silver E55 was bad ***, I like to meet the real owner. He is likely in my area.
BTW, you can check out videos of my nsx:
2nd and 3rd gear acceleration
Here is video of a 0~60mph run, soft launch, depending on your stop watch, 4.1sec~4.43sec. I took my time getting ready and stay relaxed.
0~60mph
Found a similar acceleration video of E55 for comparision: E55 0~160mph+

2900 lbs? Man you must of put your NSX through a diet. Nice! I heard most of them weigh around 3100lbs.

I have 92 hardtop@30k miles, the curb weight is 2985~3010lbs stock. The targa model weights approximately 150lbs more. I have shaved approximately 100lbs off with basic weight reduction.

I meet other car enthusiasts on the road in Southern Cal fairly often. Usually it is others who approach me first. I am not shallow or narrow minded. I love cars. His E55 had both the look and power, looks to be lowered with aftermarket wheels with aggressive offset, one of the most aggressive looking E55 I have seen. Just curious if it was stock or not other than the wheels and lowering. That thing was a beast, I have seen other E55s at Irwindale Speedway, but this one is just even faster.

Reaction time .741
60' 2.008
330 5.462
MPH 87.8

If you use the converstion table, this time and trap speed is approximately mid 12s. The car is now at 371rwhp or 420~430bhp. Definitely low 12sec capable. The videos I posted up there speaks for themselves.
Pics from the Irwindale during a hot mid summer day at Island Empire. The 996TT was running 9s, and C6 was running consistent 8.5s. Talking about what the car is capable of is easy, but actually run the time is not quite as easy.

Thank you, sweet E55 you got, must be a load of fun to drive

I would love to have a hooked up NSX ... turbo & nitrous would be sweet. There is one out here running mid 11's @ 126

nice... by those numbers, a stock E55 would pull on you a bit, with your extra HP now, I think it would be very close..... here are my stock E55 numbers:

Judging from your video you really know your stuff. Proper burn out at water box to heat up the tires and get rid of debris left over by other cars. Being the first time I ran with no burn out, tire through water box, and launched off ldle to prevent wheel spin. Was much more difficult for me launching at the dragstrip than on actual street. My 60" times shows, but even with a perfect launch, 7.9sec at best. So at previous power level a stock E55 win for sure. At current power level, very similar. This reflects at the run I had with the gentleman in the E55 a few days ago. I am happy with the current level, very much done modding the car. Probably stay here for a good bit longer and stay off the high boost upgrade. I rather use the money toward adding other cars to my stable, next to the NSX. C6 Z06, E55, SL55, etc
