HID Fog Lights

I just got HID fog lights installed but they flicker when ever I turn the car on. When the car is off it is fine. Do any of you guys know what the problem is? Do I need to get it reset from the dealership? Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks!

It sounds like you may have a loose connection..make sure the connections are tight, at least that is what happened in my other car. Are the connections direct to the fog light wires or you are juicing the line from another source. Do you have any pictures, I am thinking of doing the same modification and also would you mind telling me which kind you got and where? I am quite sure they look Hot, have seen a few people around my way with them and they look very nice. Thanks.

20+ to list......
Check your fuses too to make sure they are strong enough to cover the voltage that's needed by the HIDs.

Hochi, did you get your HID kit from CarLab? I'm experiencing the same problem only when I turn on my foggies. It flickers for 30 seconds then goes away. There is a fix to it from what I recall in the instructions. Will check when I get home.

i have a McCulloch kit i bought about 2 yrs ago. it also does the flickering when i turn it on and it was due to a loose connection. I would double check them all in case. Good luck!

All of the connections are on securely. They only start flickering when I turn the car on. W211Ryda please pm me when you get a chance. They look so nice when they are on. Too bad I can't drive with them on yet.

It is the hid kit. I had the same problem with installing hid on my friends 300C. Mercedes voltage is not constance. There are hid kits sold that fix this. I will see if I can find the web site.

No guys...this is the problem with MB system...System diagnoses and each time decides it self where and how much voltage to send...

I have these problem as well...dealer cant fixed it...

Xenon uses less power the reg.lights and thats is why there is such issues...

The solution to this is it the way you "START" the car...

You turn the ingnition ON, till all the lights on the dashboard are ON...then turn FOG lights switch...they will light propely most of the time and then start the car..."No mailfunctions" signs..

After you start it the car they will work fine but once you switch it off, you have go through same procedure again...

Hope it helps...good luck...
