Fiske: those are indeed awesome cars!!! that E55 was shooting nitrous tho on his 10.9 run. the SL65, well, its a V12 TT!!! GOOD LORD i love those cars!
I know for a fact my car can run 10.7's if i ever drove it right and had slicks. also, with boring it out to a 447ci, i should be making well near 600 rwhp. But who knows... I am only 24, i have the rest of my life to do stupid things. LOL...

another thing to consider... those AMG's are upwards of 100K. my vette... not nearly anywhere close to that value.

Every car board suffers from brand blindness - being unable to accept that some other car can be faster than yours. Some are much worse than others. This board happens to be pretty objective on balance, imo. Some "other" boards out there make me think of the scene from "Dude, Where's My Car" where the famous Zultan is speaking about space travel to his gang of bubble-wrap clad disciples in his parent's barn. Okay Okay.. let's not beat on the Chevy guys... some of the owners are actually car guys that know a little about power. Unfortunately, their are a few "stereo type" Vette owners out there that think that have F-15s in their garage.... but that's okay... we like'em anyway...
I agree that an E55 will stomp most stock C5 and C6 and almost any other car on the road. In addtion, the new Z06 is a wicked.. wicked car. But hell... I can put my son in the car seat in the E55 and make him laugh... different stokes for different folks. The E55 is the top of the heap in my opinion when you truly want it all...
I have a go kart with a decent motor and fiberglass body.

ok ok ok guys!!! enough of the laughing. i did mention from the beginning that the E55 is a SICK car. i love them, hell i love any AMG for that matter. But what i am saying here is, not ALL E55s are modded to hell running 10s passes. there are a **** ton of vettes out there running 10s passes...
Using me in particular, i am all motor, running a solid 11.00 right now, but i have only dragged the car 2x. im sure many here who have gotten those 10s passes have done it a few times... give me a couple more and i'll show you a 10.7 or what ever.
At any rate, im not going to argue. im not a clueless vette owner, i have done everything on the car myself, i know the insides and out. and im 24! i have yrs ahead of me to make a killer setup. my goal is a 427 with twins, can we say 700+rwhp and 9's? and hey, when i want to take the family DOWN the strip, i'll drive my newly aquired 01' E55. now that i have been driving it for a few days, i know for a fact even this 01 can beat up on a stock c5, maybe a c6 (with a ****ty driver) to... i plan on modding mine a lil, then we can talk about keeping up with C5 Z06's..
So, moral of my story:

What were u driving when you were 24? i mean this in no disrespect, but i have worked my *** off to buy my toys, and they are all paid in cash!

Thank you Rock, i have worked my butt off thru 6yrs of school and 2 degrees to buy these things... i do hope to have a fleet in my future... a MB will now always be one of them! my "measly" ol 01' E55 has got me hooked... LOL
Carl: the Burban has a ATI procharger on it, running 8 lbs boost. Has a Ford Power stroke diesel intercooler (much cooler air and larger then stock ati kit IC), electric fans, upgraded fuel, full exhaust, misc lil things. I used the ATI blower and bracket and FMU, but everything else, i fabricated myself. There is no other systme like mine out there, as far as i know. Took me about 3 weeks to design and install, and it was well worth it. i can go into more detail if you REALLY want to know... LOL
Here she is:
has since changed a lil in how it looks, but thats the basics.
also, it has 3 tvs, 2 10" subs, 14 speakers, total of 1400 watts. Not to mention, i do a lot of housing projects, so it is used as a hauler, inside and out! But anyways, getting off topic.

Nothing spectacular. It's a 2003 C5 Z06. Old setup was a Vortech @ 6psi and LG long tubes w/RT cats. Pretty much everything else stock (power-wise), including catback. ~550rwhp and high 10s@129 in the 1/4.
Now I have a T-trim blower, pullied between 10-12psi and Julio's methanol injection kit. Just waiting on time to strap it down to tune before I hit the track again. My guess is 625rwhp. Still a quiet, stock looking car
I also have the usual safety mods, along with some stuff for land speed racing (standing mile).
The car is minitubbed (~2" on each side) and I usually roll on 19x12 HREs w/345s, but for the track I have CCWs.
I figure 12psi on the stock motor might last until winter.

there will always be someone younger and quicker, not me though... at 24 I had a Mazda RX-7 Twin-Turbo, Lexus GS400 and Sabb 9-3 Convertible.
BTW, that SLR 722, runs 0-124MPH in 10 seconds flat....

Wayne: Nice setup! the vortech units are awesome in that manner, SBD, silent but deadly! LOL. and on a stock motor, it is impressive. the previous owner of my vette, has a ECS blown Z06, makes 614rwhp also on a stock block. that paxton unit packs quite a punch!
as i mentioned above, my C5R 427 is gettin pulled this weekend, and while its out, i figure perhaps bore it out to a 447ci. OR, doug rippie (local to me) mentioned puttin in blower cam and pistons, throw in a D1Sc later on down the road. The motor is built to handle nitrous, but i think thats cheating... Man. Bad taste isn't limited to the bowtie bunch. We've probably seen every type of car with tasteless mods like that. That one is pretty bad, though.
Somewhere at home, I have a picture of a C5 with a 6 tip exhaust. The owner was so proud of it. He had no idea. I had just sold my C5 Z06 when I ran into him, and I was mortified.
