Topgun32 Will Become Topgun-55
guys,
i pleased to announce the joining of the higher elite group.
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...light=2003+e55
I just received my loan docs for my 03 2005.
Roger and I have made the deal and we just going through the document process.
I must say that waiting for the right deal paid off.
The car is barely broken in
CPO
extended warranty
right color combo
good options
and good price
After owning the C32 without warranty, I would never own another AMG without it.
I have tons of pics from Roger, but I won't post any pictures until its sitting next to my C32.
I'm keeping my mini-beast for a few more months. I have to fix a few issues before I sell it. I want to make sure it is in good condition.
I'm having the truck delivered with Open trailer for $810. I received about 15 to 20 quotes, and i picked one of the lowest. I could not justify $1600 for enclosed trailer for a used car. If the car was new, YES!
I know it is not over until the FAT lady sings.. but this deal is 99% done.
I just need to sign and return to Wells Fargo and they will cut the check.

Diehard style delivery...."Welcome to the party palll!!!"
Wait til you feel the bloody nose torque this thing delivers on a daily basis.
It's a blast.
You'll be killing everything in site for the first few weeks so be CAREFUL!! Car is deceptively fast and 120-130 comes before you know it/feel it.
Have fun!

thanks Tigger.
do you still have hook ups on tires?
BTW guys: I have never driven an E55, only sat in some at the autoshows. From all your responses, I'm probably going to "wet my pants"

When I bought my C32 (1.5 years ago) I felt the differance in power from a G35 and Acura CL type S. But the power difference is mostly from stand still or on the freeway. What I really wanted is "Instant torque" and I can't still make my C32 perform that way. I think I just solved my problem with the E55.

Congratulations. I love the C32 but the E55 truly is one of the finest cars on the market. I'm tempted to do the same but am probably going to hold out for the new RS6. Can't wait to see pics. Have fun with it, i'm sure you will.

My car finally arived yesterday.
It was as dirty as a pig in a mud puddle.
After a good wash, it was ready to roll.
Took the car out a few times and, but I have not hit past 4.5k.. (there is no need). Plenty of torque to pass, and the ride is really nice for the wife and kids.
Turning is a bit light on the steering, but the suspension set up is perfect.
Everything is great and the car is in MINT condition for an 2003. Now I have to read the manual to learn all the settings.
I can't seem to post pics... but here is one with my signature.

Congrats TopGun!!!
I'm glad to hear the beast made it into your driveway! Noting some differences between my C55 and E55, I really enjoy the air suspension of the E55 but I have to say it's night and day in terms of steering compared to my C55. The E55 feels very "floaty" but the extra power more than makes up for that!
I can't wait until we can post pics of our new rides! Does anyone know when this feature will be set up?

I'm going to take it to the dealer for a full check up.
I have tinted windows, and I'm thinking of removing the tint. I like the look with out it. But I will need to get sun shades for the kids.
The rear window tint is not very good, you can see lots of airpockets on the antenna wiring.

believe it or not.. my wife is driving it to work and using it pick up the kids from daycare.
I'm still driving the C... and the big family SUV its parked for now.
I hope she don't get any tickets. I have 3 already in the past 9 months. 1 will not show due to Traffic School.
See you on the next meet.
