Stablemate for the E55??
well, I decided today to drop the Commander, so I need another ride to replace it. Help ME!!!
Options in no particular order:
New 997TT (dream car. may take some pleasing the wife, but she thinks all 911s are the same)
Used 993TT and completely trick it out.
Another Jeep (AEV converted Hemi Rubicon)
Land Cruiser (like it but dated)
G500 (LOVE IT!!)
S550
What else??
Budget is about $100K+/-$50K

20+ to list......
How about an ML63?
My E55 will be having two "housemates" before the end of this year, space will be a little tight, but I think they will get along very well cause they are all loved the same way.

The S550 is $150 the way i like it. May do it anyway, as the wife will also like it and it leaves the door open for a sports car later.
What p car?
A 997TT is awesome, but $150
A 993TT is just hard to find in the right shape.
Maybe 997 C4S? Hmmmm. Enough power?

You gone off the idea of a new GT3?
996 GT3 has to be an option.
As for 997 C4S, power wouldn't be a problem as soon as you experience the brakes and handling.
Go for P-car or the G-tank.

hey Jangy,
How about a slightly used 2005-2006 SL65, you might be able to get it for less than 110k. Your wife will love the convertible. My GF loves the car after we got it.

I vote 993TT, a true enthusiast's car and still considered the best 911 ever. Trick it out and have a BLAAAAST. Its still completely gorgeous and IMO better looking than the current 997's.

See what I mean?!?!! Beyooootiful. A guy by me has had a red 993TTS for close to a decade now and I still drool every time I see it.
Why buy an S class boat when you already have an E-Class boat? Redundant as all hell.
As for the ML/G/GL I think they're all fugly (maybe the GL is kind of cute). I'm assuming you're in cali and there's honestly no good reason why anyone there should own an SUV unless they're way up north.

I also agree about the power. You'll still have your E55 for straight line blitzes. Drive the p-car and you forget it pretty quickly. Save some dough and get the 2S.
And if you're keeping the E, why get an S? You're looking for a "fun" car!

The GT3 is an option. I am just getting a little chicken of spending that much and NOT having THE fastest car. I waffle back and forth between it and the TT.
The 996 is an option I suppose, but I am an extremist. By that, i mean i'll either pony up and get a 997TT or save major $$ and get a 993TT and then sink the $$ into it.
The S class is redundant, but like I said it would actually go to the wife. I'd get a Wrangler for now and once she has a new S, the 997TT is a for sure early 07 purchase. The E is just too small for a family of 4. The S isn't, and there is NO way I am getting rid of the E. NO WAY!!
The Sl65 is a definite option. i hate convertibles and would probably NEVER have the roof open, BUT I love the SL AND the V12TT.
I am really liking the 993TT idea or the 997Cs or 997C4s.
Ford Gt is an option for sure. i was actually looking at a Noble, so anythig is game. I would get a Zo6, but i just can't get over the vette stigma. What do you guys think I could get a nice Ford GT for? How much you think it will cost me on an annual basis to keep running?
If I get the SUV, it must be off road capable. I am a whack head about that and go to extremes, so RR sport, etc won't cut it. Actually, anything that has independent suspension is out. The G55 is overkill and I think the G500 would be a better base to build as an off road monster.
Lastly, back to the 993TT. How much you think I can pick up a MINT one? I want to do the mods myself (well not me, but in my possession) rather than buying one that has had it done. RUF will be the way to go.

+1 Ford GT
You already have luxury cars ... and you definitely seem to be someone that likes extremes.
With the Ford GT we have already seen a member modify the crap out one. JUST AWESOME!

Secondly, you will not save major $$ by getting a 993TT instead of a 996TT. also, forget about extracting more HP (for the dollar anyway) out of a 993 than you can get out of a 996. Air cooled vs. water cooled.
I don't follow Ford GT's but I can't imagine there's much to keep them running.
Slightly used, for about the price of a new TT you can always look at one of these. I was wondering about this myself the other day, but I know my wife would freak!! I love it but I think I might feel a tad funny getting in and out of this!!
