I know that this year's challenge cars included several of the 6.3 motors. Someone mentioning the ML6.3 in a discussion.

For those of you that went to the Challenge, did you ever see the E63 or ML63 run against one another? Did there seem to be any discreptancy between power claims?

At the Saturday session at Joliet, Tommy Kendall took the ML63 that was supposed to be for static display around the track a few times and gave rides to about 9 of us. It was a heck of a lot of fun. MB had an E63 there that they were testing but we didn't see it do any runs and no rides were available. One guy in my group had JUST picked up his E63 but said he hadn't had it long enough to comment on it.

Fontana was the opposite. Tommy was cruising in the E63 and SLRs, and the ML63 was display only.

As it should be, the fastest time on the mini road course was in the E55. The SLR was not included in the days, since the SLR day was that Sunday.

The fastest on the open oval was the SLR.

Tommy's comments were:

The SLR is the fastest (top end) street legal car he has ever driven. Not that he hasn't been in cars with more potential speed, but he actually went the fastest in the SLR (175ish i think)
The E63 should beat the E55 as a track car.
The E55 is faster in the 1/4 mile than the E63.
