Passed on the E63
Today I decided to pass on the E63 I ordered with the P2 package, Distronic, Parktronic and panoramic sunroof and instead brought an E550 4-Matic with the P2 and Sport Packages off the lot. Something just didn’t feel right about the E63 and the E550 reminds me of my beloved 2000 and 2002 E55’s. The E63 is a great car and the breaks and transmission are improvements over the E55 but I just couldn’t justify spending $96,000+ on the E63 I ordered when I could purchase a loaded E550 for under $64,000 (About $32,000 less). The E550 will serve as a great daily driver and the money I saved has enticed me to hang on to my 2005 SLK 55. The GM at Euro MotorCars in Germantown, MD confirmed that he has heard rumors that the 2009 E63 will be a 630 HP twin turbo.
