E55 Launch Question Traction Off

Sup. Im curious. I read that when some of you launch your E55s, the tires spin until like 40mph? So that means that the tires are screeching/chirping the whole way through? That sounds insane, are there any good videos for this? Thanks.

Forget spinning well past 40 - With Stock 18" tires -mine will actually break loose the tires when already rolling in 2nd gear FROM 40mph.
That's one of the reasons for the 295/30/19's. They're the only tires that give me some semblance of any traction at all!
It's got to the point - that if I wanted - I could spin all the way thru 2nd gear and it wouldn't start to hook up until mid 3rd gear.

I know it's hard to believe but I'll try and get some vids!!

Mine isn't even a K car and agree 100%.

Did I ever ask you for your wheel stats? i am about to get rims and need them to fit 295s. Any comments on rubbing and offset?

One of you E55 boys come down here and fit my 225s on. Give those suckers 45 psi in the rain and I wonder if you'll break the rear loose at highway speeds (80 mph).

The CCW 505 or 505A in size 19x10" is a perfect rim for 295/30
There is a solid 1/8in clearance on the inside.
Unfortunately, the dreaded 295 wiggle I got wasn't due to rubbing.
It appears that the traction is so much better at putting down the Tq to the ground, that on "Hard" acceleration, it's actually creating problems with the bushings in the rear suspension, causing a slight "twist"
You can see the size tires/rims on my Signature. Forum member "Houston" has the EXACT same set-up and has posted a picture in his profile.

CCW Wheels also has 3 or 4 pics of Houston's car on their web-site "gallery"

Sorry I don't know the offest.....but it is a NON-ISSUE!

size isn't so much the probem, it's the offset that's the key to fitting 295's. i would also be most appreciative if you could check the rim's offset. it should be stamped on the inner rim somewhere.
