I think that you are comparing 2007 technology vs. 2001 technology. A better comparison would be the 997TT vs. the E63.

C63
Well it looks like the E63 ate up that 996. In the first video though, it looks like the 996 overtook the E63 right at the end, but you really can't tell from that video so i'm not sure. Either way, that looks real postive for the E63 debate.

by the way, what are the numbers for a 996TT?

well we all know that the E63 will never stand a chance there!! and most people here can compare the performance of a 996TT against a 997TT since they probably had a run against one somewhere! anyways we all also know that the 996TT isn't a turtle too! and it cold be a bench mark for all to see and compare

I defer to RenntechV12 on this vid....he knows those P Cars. Only question would be...What does that P-car in the vid run in the 1/4....then we could get a feel for what the 63 is doing.

Renn, can you please please talk one of the Scottsdale exotic club members to buy this friggin car (E63) so we can see what it will do your track down there.

most of the positive videos have been from E63 outside of N.A.

However thanks for posting!

The 996TT was automatic. Which is faster for this model?

I know the new 997TT the 6spd Auto is a bit faster than the Manual.

None of the E55 guys want the 63 because they've heard that it's slower

Keep in mind, that in a street race from a roll, the trapspeed is a more important number than the ET. ET involves a lot of factors (launch, tires, gearing, etc.) For example, I've got a buddy with a Kenne Bell Cobra that ran 9.78@128, my GT2 ran 10.77@131, with a high trapspeed of 134. When we went from a roll, I pulled about 7 car lengths on him up to 130.

With all that being said, a stock 996TT traps around 115mph, so it should be able to pull on the 63 from a roll, but there are many factors that could change that (drivers' reaction time, gears, etc...)

Thanks for taking the time to do these races and share your videos.

So that we can fairly compare the perfomance of these cars, please confirm the following:
1. Was there a passenger in either or both cars? It seems the filming in the Porsche was done by someone, since the camera moves to follow the other car.
2. Judging by the hand position of the driver, I assume the Porsche is an automatic. Is that right?

BTW, to have that many miles on your car already, you must have had one of the first E63s in the world, or really drive a lot.

Thanks again.

20+ to list......
I believe the tiptronic equipped TT is slower than the manual in the 996 version. 997TT though, is totally opposite.

OK your welcome my pleasure to sort out debates LOL

1- the load in both cars where about the same Two guys in both cars, we decided to film from the Porsche so you could tell that we were flooring it.

2- it is an automatic porsche

yes my cousin car was the first car delievered in our country and the second day we got her i posted up some pics hope you like them and maybe we did drive alot in this car so we can get results about the car performance its not wrong why do you buy a car? to drive it or watch it? we drive my friend we enjoy it

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/156595-ok-i-think-first.html

and guys i am trying my best to find a stock E55 here but it seems to be very hard once i do you know i will post a vid promise.

guys i would like to say something even if there was a fractions of seconds that have gone wrong in either races, with the feed back that we have recieved from this froum should tell us that the porsche should have at least caught up not pass but CATCH up at least thats what i think anyways! (CLOSE THE GAP) which it never did and the E63 seemed to make it bigger
