2004 E55 AMG
New E55 owner and MBWorld member
What's up everyone I am the proud "new" owner of a CPO 2004 E55 AMG in Brilliant Silver. I have been lurking on these forums for a while now, and am amazed by the amount of information and maturity in comparison to other forums I am a member of (M5board, M3 Forums, E46 Fanatics, Supraforums....blah blah)
I love the car in everyway, it definitely gives me a new perspective of speed. I thought my E39 M5 was king of the road for a while there, but this E55 easily makes a mess of it from any speed. If there is a weak point I would have to say the handling of the car is not quite up to par with the E39 M5, but a stab at the gas pedal makes me forget all that haha.
I hope to meet some of the local AMG owners here in San Diego. I live in south San Diego County, San Miguel Ranch near Eastlake to be exact. If you see me in any of my rides don't hesitate to wave.

whats going on ben?!
once again, im glad you jumped ships and joined the amg team.
looks like that one ride in my s class convinced you to get a 55k yourself.
try to keep it under triple digit speeds now!

2004 E55 AMG
I'll take that bet.
The E55 has many merits and is an overall better car, but the M5 is definitely the scalpel of the two (the E55 being the broad sword haha).
What suspension mods do you have?

Welcome to the Board. I have also been a board member at M3 Forum for years and have always enjoyed BMW's, in particular M3s. It is a big change to go from any M car to an E55 AMG. You do lose a lot of the precision driving you get with M cars but what you get in exchange is more comfort, more luxury and way more *****-to-the-walls power.
Do a few choice modifications and there is not much on the road that will touch your 4,000lbs beast.
The power is easy to tap into at any speed and is truly addicting.
Cheers!!!
