I don't know about any of you other than tigerlam but my tech told me that he changed my octane setting to 91 and advanced my timing as well as tigers. My car runs awesome and we will see how well on October 28th if we get enought cars to go. if not I will go myself.

The way I understand it is that the Baseline is the best setting. That's what was told to me by the people in the know (I didnt do an independent dyno to confirm). 93 RON setting means that is the MINIMUM fuel quality you will be dumping into your car (93RON = approx 87 NA).
These are the options in Star:
- Baseline
- 93
- 89
- 87
If you really want a definitive answer and are not sure who to believe, take your car to the dyno BEFORE you change the setting.. Go to the dealer and switch it to 93, and then go back to the dyno.. Post up your graphs and lets have a look.

then 87?
what is 87? As your describing it then 87 would be the minimum octane thrown in ... thats RON so do people even have gas that low octane???
Also my tech specifically said he set mine at 91 ... so I don't know if we are looking at different versions?

That's correct. The number selected is the MINIMUM fuel quality.
The settings and options in DAS are dependent on the type of engine/ECU in your car.. For the M113 it is what I posted (if I remember the #'s correctly). For your car, the options could be different.

Coalman, I have been driving the car for about a month with the 93 octane setting, and it runs fine to me. When i get chance today i will call my service advisor and get to the bottom of it.

I took the car back and reset octane setting back to base. I hadn't noticed mush change either way. By the way, if you go to MB dealer check out wicked Viper and SRT10 truck next door. Also, beware leaving MB dealer from back of lot, they are doing street repair and I bottomed car out as I left the F*****g lot.
