Should E63 guys get their own section of the forum.

We've been pretty rough on the E63 guys and was thinking maybe they should have their own section so that they can show off their cars, mods, etc without fear of us slamming them each time.

Right now it's like, "Hey guys look at my E63 with HRE's!"

reply, "You drive the red headed b-astard son of AMG!!"

reply, "Sorry guys, I just wanted to show you my new car"

reply, "You'll be tossing an S4's salad with those hp numbers"

It's a W211.
I can understand if this topic came up when the W211 came out versus the W210...

You are cracking me up! This is very funny.

We E63 guys can take it. We dont need our own area, just to keep our feelings from getting hurt. So long as the comments are based in truth, bring it on!

That IS very funny!

However, the C32 and C55 guys are lumped together and everything is fine in their world.

I would have been a VERY upset C55 owner though had I found out it was Dyno'ing at less HP than the C32!!! The absolute havoc I would've wreaked!

Nah, we're all W211 brothers!! They should have seperated us from the W210 when the W211 came out, but that never happened. I think that there should be seperate forums when completely new models with new designations come out, imho.

Maybe people should just lay off the E63 owners. We dont sit here are jab at W210 E55 drivers for having an old car with a weaker engine.

E63 is a great car. I am in the camp that says if I could get one without having to spend 40-50k to upgrade I would do it in a second.

But I am not a 1/4 king, I love high reving motors, and I love a well tuned suspnesion well more than massive tq at idle.

Different strokes different folks.

Lets keep the E63 people around. Its good fun. Just be friendly not rude.

E63 after 1 week and 500 miles

I’ve been very critical of the E63 in this forum but after 1 week of ownership I’m starting to fall in love with my new E63. The looks, fit & finish, steering, handling, breaks, transmission and power are all excellent. The car feels very responsive and keeps the driver feeling very connected to the driving experience.

The E55 is one of my all time favorite cars and represents perhaps the greatest value of any car on the market in terms of luxury, power, performance and cost. My 2005 E55 was awesome. The power and acceleration were simply unbeatable. If you drive an E55 there really isn’t much out there to worry you at red lights. As much as I loved my E55 I always felt that the electronic breaks, transmission and steering were areas that needed improvement and the E63 represents a big improvement in these areas. To me the E55 was a blast to drive but not necessarily a fun car to drive in that it was very numb. The transmission didn’t downshift the way that I would have liked it too and every time I was driving at high speeds the electronic breaking was difficult to calculate. I love the way the transmission in the E63 downshifts. The E63 also seems to be extremely fast on the highway. No matter what my speed when I step on the gas it gains momentum with great ease. I don’t recall the E55 having such deep lungs when on the move. In terms of straight on acceleration the E55 is hard to beat but I’ve always been a fan or naturally aspirated engines and the 6.3 seems to fit the bill nicely, although I must admit that I’ve been wondering what AMG could have done with the new base Mercedes 5.5 liter 32 valve engine. The new 6.3 definitely represents a radical departure in philosophy for AMG which has always been a tuner for Mercedes and not an engine manufacture. The E63 is a pleasure to drive and for me presents and much more enjoyable overall driving experience then my E55. I would gladly sacrifice some of the E55’s low end torque for the E63’s overall improvements and civility. The best part of my day is definitely my commute to and from my office.

Both the E55 and E63 are great cars and should not be viewed as rivals but as siblings. Each of these wonderful vehicles possesses unique characteristics and those who own them should consider themselves lucky.

That's not gonna be fun for the e63er's. Here's how it's gonna turn out:

E55 forum:

Just dynoed my beast and I'm down on HP and TQ. That damn reflash castrated my beast.

Why won't AMG listen to us. Let's hang Rob Allen!! He completely ignored that fact that a group of us are having problems after the ECU recall.

I feel like my E55 is a slug. I think my IC pump failed.

I almost died today. ABC failed on my today!

E63 forum:

Any updates of the missing HP?

Agreed.

Also, just to stir the pot some more. I'll take my E55 and walk a dog around the E63. The brakes MAY be better. Feedbakc on the brakes is 100% better as the E55 has NONE, so that is a given. Also, the 2 piece rotors have to be lighter. BUT, why the crappy new calipers when the old ones do so well? It is the only decent part of the OEM brakes and now they drop pistons? Not good to me. Some say that is not a bad thing, but I hate it.
The steering? Jeez, maybe i'm used to my E55 but I'll take my steering over the E63. The powersteering is WAAY to active on the E63. The wheel, however feels great and maybe even a tad smaller.

Keep the E63 here. When you guys get over how the E55 was cut and the E63 overrated, we can all share the other parts of the cars that are similar (like handling and cosmetics).
