need advice on high polished wheels

was all set to order iforged wheels with a high polished finish, when the guy helping me told me that i might not want to get this type of finish b/c it is hard to maintain. he said for example if tire gloss happens to get on it, it would stain. is this true?

i thought they were clear coated so this would be minimized. still, you'd want
to keep them clean anyhoo. i know the CCW rims are not coated so their
maintenance is even more.

AMG's
Polished wheels do stain if harsh chemicals come into contact. It leaves a dark spot where ever the chemical touched. A little mother's polish and alot of elbow grease will fix it though.

I have CCW polished aluminum wheels. They require a lot of maintenance to keep looking their best (prob the highest maintenance finish out there). Every finish be it chrome, clear, powder coat, or paint is going to require some special care and elbow grease to look their best. I have a detailer do mine so I don't have to bust my *** polishing, etc. He uses Mother's Aluminum Polish and Wheel Wax or some glaze (I don't recall the name). That stuff really helps when it comes time to clean again. I strongly recommend it. Oh, and I wipe any tire shiny stuff off right away if it gets on the wheel. I haven't had any problems with staining, etc. Just be careful applying it, and use gel or liquid, not spray.

I strongly recommend buying a wheel that is clear coated. IMO brake dust is the most corrosive contaminant and will literally eat through a wheel overtime...... so you need a coating to protect the aluminum.

I wouldn't put polished wheels on a daily driver unless they were clearcoated.

The CEO of Boeing once said "Aluminum occurs in a powder form in nature and has a high propensity to return to that state".

If my wheels turn to powder I will snort them through a Krazee straw.
