***If not TT - How about this??***

Hi fellow forum members
Have been watching extensively the TT discussion (Kudos to you Victor for going after this), but I've done mods like this to my last 3 cars and each time it ended up disaster
1.) Stroked Impala SS - motor/crank BROKE!
2.) Lexus GS 400 TT (1 of 4 in country) - Piston went thru bottom of Oilpan
3.) 300C-SRT8 S/Chg - application caused exhaust issues - not reliable

As much as I want to jump on this bandwagon.... I'm inclined to sticking with the AMG design and want to "tweak" the motor for more HP! We know it can be done by simply looking at the SLR.

Now my ?'s.

1.) If we take a K3VRP and add SLR cams - maybe 525 RWHp
2.) + port and polish heads - maybe 560 RWHp
3.) + more efficient/better SLR Chg cooler - maybe 575 RWHp

These #'s I believe are conservative and we keep the existing design
for us more conservative AMG owners.
I still highly RESPECT you guys going after the TT Design , with me though...
3 strikes and I'm done!

What do you guys think? Victor - your input appreciated...

Ken,

You are absolutely right.. 580rwhp WILL be possible with the platform that is there.. That's the 700hp holy grail I've been searching for.. Heads, cams, SLR style coolers and everything you already have will put you past that point I am sure..

BUT.. If you want to be in the 650rwhp - 750rwhp or even higher, something a little more radical is required.

Ken you have to remember that every car you list up there was not a FI car to begin with. It will be a very easy swap to do what is talked about. Just look at the Ford GT and Ford Cobra's

I think its no problem as long as tuning and fuel are addressed. Also we really dont know how much boost this engine will take. It could do 25psi easy. Know one knows

Again 10 years ago no one would have guess a 3 liter turbo engine that made stock boost at 12-13psi would be able to handle 30+psi on that same stock engine from toyota.

You're right on the money with that comment. "Blowing" an NA car is like trying to put a saddle on a Zebra and ride it, its never going to work the way you want it to and is always going to look out of place.

All hail the 2JZ!!!!

'03 G500, '13 G63, '17 GLS63,
You chose the wrong examples to compare, lol. It takes A LOT more effort to build a factory N/A car to be reliably F/I. Starting with a factory F/I engine gives more margin for error, as the foundation is already there.
Factory F/I engines are more stout than N/A engines. In many cases, building the motor is not a necessity for streetable power levels. 2JZGTE is a shining example. With a 10-year-old 100% stock longblock (stock cams, stock bottom end) one of my previous Supras put down a reliable 515rwhp on pump and 670rwhp on race fuel without a problem or hiccup. The key was simply proper tuning.
Check out the Ford Mustang Cobras too. They can make crazy power reliably with stock motors.

E55K
MKB does all these without TB and gets 680 HP and Evotech get it to 700HP...
