As a SL55 owner, those E55's will be damn good value !

On the other hand, it doesn't cost MB what it costs us to add an option. For instance, I doubt the alarm or CD player or any of these things costs nearly what it costs us to put in. Hopefully, that holds true when they price the US W211 E55.

Well, either that, or I'm trying to delude myself that the E-class will come in at the low-mid 70k level -- the cut-off point before it starts to become unaffordable for me.

Yikes, I actually took a look at the price list, and it states the E500 as being around 48k Euros. With that figure in mind, it seems the E55's gonna be more here, too.

You know the funny thing is that the url had 210 on the end of the string, even though it was in "new" E section. I then checked the price list that can be displayed for all cars. (Start with pkw, don't select E class, go directly to priesubersicht, then priesfinder.)

Here the price listed for the E55 w/476hp is 87,580 EUR!!!

For comparisons sake, I looked up the S500L (as we only get the long base ver. in the US) and the E500. S500L = 84,216 EUR and E500 = 56,492. (Same price is shown in the Konfigurator)

So I suspect the the new E55 could be well over $80K in the US. This would also be consistent with the price increase seen in Australia.

If our friend Felix (who works at an MB dealer in Germany) is out there, please confirm the price of the new E55.
