CF components anyone?
CF components anyone?
Hi all. I have a local company wanting to get into MB parts. They are willing to use my car as a template to make a mold at their expense. Question is, what parts would people like to see offered first?
The simple ones are done by others (spoiler lip and rear diffuser), but I was more thinking of engine bay and interior components.
I have been to the facility and their work is truly nice. Enough so that I am considering a few.
So, what pieces would you all want? The price will be great as they are planning on selling through distributors later, so we would be getting that same price now.

Most of the stuff is already available. There are 2 carbon fiber engine covers available already. Also, I believe C2 design and Brabus make CF interior pieces as well. CF steering wheels are also available by almost any tuner lol
Very true, but we are talking fractions of those costs.

Hold the phone, bro. Let's prioritize pieces. It will get done over a period of time and each component will be separate, so we need to decide which order we want them done in. My car is black and my interior charcoal with birds eye, so the CF colors will match up nicely.
My vote for first piece is the Shifter gate. I don't know if i like the aluminum look and I don't want to go birds eye, so I thought CF??
Door lock pins are already available:

They retail for about 25 bucks per 2. (Disclaimer: that's based on the Japanese yen exchange rate. These are not available for sale in the US unless you have some one to buy it in Japan and ship it to you.)

I've been looking into that and while I do plan on running some air to the front brakes, I doubt they will be CF. I'm leaning more at some flexible tubing (like a dryer) that draws air from just under the airdam.
Now you are talking. I noticed that my car ran stronger when the front grill was removed, so a replacement that has less slits is in order. What do you know, CF can help add performance. Remind me you gave me the idea and i'll get you an extra special discount.
