e55 vs m5 v10
#2
Just going by what I have read here, but the M5 is generally faster than the unmodded E55 from most any rolling start and particularly at higher speeds(100mph plus).
For 1/4 mile times the E55 has the advantage although with a very good launch the M5 will still be very close but with higher trap speeds. With the European launch control the M5 may have the advantage. With very minor mods(pulley only) the E55 regains the advantage except in 100 plus mph speeds.
This is secondhand info, so if I am wrong someone please correct me.

Yes, from previous threads I have read, a modded M5 is faster past 100 mph even against modded E55s. I don't know exactly how much faster, but Gustav on the M5 board has some video he has not released yet of Kleeman and modded M5 rolling start runs where the Kleeman initially runs out front but the M5 passes it at higher speeds.
I'm not really sure about a completely stock M5 but I would guess a Stage 1 E55 would lose at higher speeds to a stock M5 also. The M5 is very fast at high speeds and the E55 gearing and HP loss from powering the superchanger is hard to overcome.

Hey Bro,
We can never lose our need for speed My 07 Z06 should be arriving by years end. I was #44 back in January and as of last month #9!! If you recall I came very close to pulling the trigger on the SL65 back in Dec 05 but held off.
I have been so busy this year growing my latest start-up venture that not having a rocket machine under cover in the garage has not triggered my OCD
