2002 S-430
Northern Virginia Body Shop
Had an accident last week where I was driving the S430 and my brother was in his E55 behind us. Some guy in a Mustang rear ended him causing him to plow into us. The S-430 sustained minor bumper damage but the E55 is in bad shape. The Mustang driver was at fault and ticketed. I need to find a good Body Shop in Northern Virginia to perform repairs on the E55 and S430. Would you guys recommend Mercedes body shop or an Independent body shop? I am considering American Service Centers body shop.

Please no way !!! Stay away from American Service center body shop.
Go to First Choice Body Shop and ask for Ray. 703-836-6920
They work on BMW, MB and Porsche and they have worked on my X5 and 911 and did an amazing job.
When i sold my X5 after an accident the dealer even said this was the best body job they have seen.
Tell him Simon Heo sent you .. and may be he will get you in sooner ..
But not so sure ...
Good luck ..

So many bad stories .. that i just can;t write it .. all ..
Would never do business with them .. even their service center sucks ..
And sales .. OMG .. i don;t know how they are still in business...

I take my car to ASC for all mechanical services and I have been treated and serviced very well since 1998. I never used the body shop but got a quote and they were more expensive for my out of pocket repairs. IMO, there is nothing wrong with ASC. They have 2 dealerships in VA.

Ya i have only heard good things about ASC.... I know a few people who have bought many cars from there and have loved the dealership, they even drive by HBL an extra 30mins to get there.
anyone have any good or bad things to say about HBL??? service, not body.

Wagonworks is the best. Took my M5 there when it got keyed...they did an insane job. When I took it to First Choice Auto they said, "if you are that meticulous about your car", take it to Wagonworks. If that's not a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is. In talking with different people in my area, the general consensus is 1. Wagonworks 2. First Choice Auto 3. everyone else.

2002 S-430
So I got back both cars back from American Service Center Body Shop:
2002 S-430: Really good job on the body and paint. Some minor issues with the paint. Have to take it back and get it fixed. Total repair cost $650
2004 E55: This job blew me away. Excellent body and paint work. Impossible to tell that any body work was ever done. Total repair cost $6,000
First Choice: I went there first and they said they do not work on Mercedes. They mentioned it was pain in the *** for them to get the codes reset if required by Mercedes. I was happy that they were honest and upfront. Have an 2002 M5 that needs some work done that I will be taking to them in the near future.
Wagonworks: I did not like their attitude at all. Was standing at the front desk for 10 minutes before anyone even asked if I had been helped. An appointment was required for them to even come out the front door and take a look at the car. They seem really busy so I am sure they don't care that I took my business some where else.
Overall I am happy with AMS's body shop. The Service Advisor Mesgna was really nice and kept me updated daily on the status of the cars.
