Milan Dragway!!!

It was about 40 degress cold night tonight took my 06 E55 to the track for the first time...

1st run getting reacquainted with the rear wheel drive launch. No burn out Spinning through first and 2nd. Car was in sport mode.

2.3958 60ft
13.147@109.18

2nd run mini burnout sport mode shifted down to 1, Spinning 1st. Not to much in 2nd this time.

2.0551 60ft
12.7600@114.79

3rd run HUGE burn out in M mode shifted down to 1 (works the best in this mode while feathering throttle) Car was in sport mode after the burnout.

1.8478 60ft
12.1629@115.41

These runs where pretty much hot lapped (hardly anytime in between) She was obviously running great!! I got the hang of it by the third time too bad we had to leave! Not bad for a bone stock car!! considering my 996tt stock at the same strip same lane ran a 12.2 Not too shabby for the "Grocery Getter"

Awesome run, you have a strong E55. . I see your car is an 06 , has it been flashed for the air injection pump recall.

Nice run! The cold weather is wonderful for your engine but unfortunate for the track surface as it kills traction.

You may want to try some VHT the next time and make sure to line up in the groove...cutting another tenth in your 60-foot and you may just be knocking on the 11-second door

Okayyyy, okay, you know the rountine. Give it up Mister.

What's the launch technique to nail that monster time.

The big question is, did ya stomp or do the "quickly but smoothly press to the floor in bout a sec"

joker-

Honestly all the times i tried to brake and hold the gas at the sametime... The car started creepin so i just let off and punched it... Obviously the first two runs were traction limited but the last one was on point the car just grippppped! I felt the HARD pull right away so slipping at all... Just got lucky i guess. Thrid times a charm! Its my first RWD automatic run down the track. The TT is a no brainer hold it at 2200 and drop the clutch and get ready to shift!!

Rflow-

I dont think my car has the reflash. Ive taken it to the dealer a few times for Misc small problems but they never told me there was a recall nor they preformed any work like that? Wouldnt they automatically do it? or say something atleast? I dont know what to do in this case? I dont want to loose HP lol

First, Congrats the yellow man for the MONSTER time...

Second, I didnt know the 06 needs to be flashed for the air injection pump recall? I did not receive notice for this.

they do not...they already come with the recall in place at the factory... it was the 03-04-05's that had the recalls done....

Very nice time on your final pass. Are you running stock Conti's or do you have DR's?

Question

Quick question...are you guys running these cars in automatic Sport mode or manually shifting?
Has anybody tried manually shifting an E55 and if so, what were the results?
My understanding is that there is an adaptive shift strategy that "learns" based on driving habits. I'm wondering if this will affect performance from car to car.
