Eisenmann exhaust e63
Yep, my first AMG, IE. e63
New to this forum.
Stock exhaust is just to mellow.
I see that there is a eisenHaus sport and race exhaust available for it. Just wondering if any one has installed one or has any thoughts on the product.
Thanks,
bahb

How much louder is the "race" version?
I know it is like any other manufactors race version, IE, louder, but I have had Borla, Dinan, etc and they are all to mellow. Flowmaster may be a little generic, but they sound good on US made vehicles. Certainly some one on this forum has the street version on their E55!! I don't know, and except for the screem of the supercharger, I would think it would not sound that much different. But what do I know, It's my first e63, or AMG for that matter.
I already know I have to upgrade my radar detector. What a rush.....

MOGZ,
What rims are you getting?????
I'm the one who took out the resonators of the 63, but for me it's still to soft...:p
That is what I was afraid of. I think I will just order a set of the street versions and be done with it. As long as I don't **** off the nieghbors and can cruise comfortably at speed, I can deal with it.

Adam,
That has been the biggest question on my mind.
Since the e63 is a naturally aspirated motor, and not being familar with Eisenmann exhasut, I have been at a loss on the decision. I know that race exhausts are always louder, and I would be hosed if I were to order the race, put it on and then not like it.
Who is the best outfit on this forum to buy it from?
Thanks for your input.

I have it on my CLK500. It sounds like a total beast, sort of like a Mustang Cobra just sounds better IMO; however, it is very loud and can sometimes get annoying while just daily driving. There is a constant drone while trying to cruise at legal speeds (55-65mph), at about 80mph there is much less drone but I don't like being almost forced at cruising at a higher speed than I want. At WOT, it sounds amazing. If you are going uphill or even just driving in a straight line and lightly hitting the gas, you will hear the deep bassy noise which sometimes annoys me because I occassionally feel like a ricer. I am pretty sure that I'm gonna remove it soon and just replace it with the stock muffler. It was cool at a time, but now I'm really starting to get sick of it. I reccomend it if you want to have constant attention (can be good or bad attention, some people think it sounds bad) or if this isn't your primary car but more of a fun car that you will only use to drive hard. Also keep in mind that the eisenmann on the 63 will be much louder and raspier than the one for the 500.
The race exhaust would be perfect if I could somehow get "butterfly valves" installed like the new Z06 has because I love this exhaust, just it kills me when I am driving normal and forces me to drive faster and more aggressive than I should. And like I said before, I sometimes feel like there are people who hear my car and think
. I have heard comments like "why would you put that on a Mercedes." I have also heard comments like "you have the nicest sounding car I have ever heard."
Just an honest oppinion from an 18 year old who has had this exhaust for about 5000 miles.
Good luck.

Well, I for one appreciate your opinion. It really helps me make a more "sound" decision.
I got quite a few years on you, but that is neither here nor there. I think that your comments are well founded and realistic. Good wisdom and common sense from a fella your age. Good for you.
I think the sport may be a good choice for me. If it is still to tame, I suppose I could just remove the resonators, as suggested in prior threads.
Thanks again

Should sound Real deep on the 63..........I have heard race version will kill you on a daily basis....
.........if sport is not loud enough you can delete secondary resonator or purchase high flow secondary from them as well......All i know is I ordered mine August 28.........still not here.............so allow lead time
