Fikse - I was running so late this morning that I took off without my video camera.
By the way, if anyone is interested, here are my top three slips. I also added the slip showing my 1.661 sixty foot time. Please ignore the reaction times. Wasn't really "racing".
Fikse - If you need me to email them to you, please let me know.

enzom,
Those are some terrific times and I am very impressed with those 0-60ft numbers, especially with PS2 rubber.
Is your car post MB re-flash? If it is, I think everyone should rush to their nearest MB dealer for the latest software update.
Finally, when you see times like that, it makes you realize that the E55 is still the four-door KING of the highways (at least when they're straight).

By the way, I was tempted to try the ECU reset trick and see how it might affect the car, but after so many passes, I had a hard time believing that the car had not already adapted to my driving "style", e.g., foot to the floor for 13 seconds.

Very nice. Your trap speed indicates that you're making about 540 HP in near-idealic conditions. Do you have dyno results for your car? Can you data log? It would be interesting to see what your timing is doing during a run, and compare it to others.

Congratulations on your times and having the consistency of a bracket racer
1.70's 60-foots are incredible for ANY street tire car. I have no doubt that Ranger was equally impressed as he is a stand up guy in his own right.
BTW, they also put in a good word for you over at the Corvette Forum board![Cheers](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/cheers.gif)

To watch him prep his friend's car and analyze data was something else. I had made 10 passes before he made his first. Between that time, he changed the clutch fluid, made all sorts of tire adjustments, set up his HD video camera and hooked up tiny microphones to the rear of the car just above the tailpipes. He uses the harmonic data to analyze shift speeds and other factors that 99.9% of the people out there don't even think of looking at. I envy his dedication.
And he is one of the nicest, most helpful guys you will meet. No ego at all. Just proven skill and work ethics. And probably lots of clutches.
I posted on Vetteforum last night to congratulate DrRon for his 11.22 pass on a bone stock Z06. Amazing.

I never got into racing seriously enough to consider using a datalogger, but if anyone wants to experiment with my car at the next track rental, I'm more than happy to oblige.
As I said in my first post, the car was getting quicker and faster with successive runs, contrary to the heatsoak concerns that I had. I am fairly sure based on what I have read on this board that if I was running a K1, heatsoak would become a problem by the third successive run.

Enzom - thanks for nothing!!!!!
You have just demoralized every 55K owner on the planet - I want to take my CLS55 to the dealer and tell them to fix it or they can have it back!
And now I am beginning to believe Housclass's 11.9? pass which I and several others held with some circumspection .
But you have definitively proved that there is a LARGE variation between 55K motors
Absolutely STELLAR results - pat yourself on your back for snagging a friggin awesome car and for some awesome driving - that 1.66sec 60ft on streets is the best I have ever seen anywhere. Having a stong motor is one thing - but you did us all proud getting launches like that - I sit in awe!!!

Chiromikey - I think you are probably correct. But keep in mind that a track rental lets you waste as many runs as you want in the pursuit of the right launch. When you go to the track on a regular day, I think you tend to try too hard. Also, I really do believe that the car gets marginally quicker on successive runs. You don't get to hotlap at any track I know of unless you are renting it.
Next time I go to Englishtown, I will try the very same launch technique and see what happens.
Siswati - I would hope instead that I have motivated people to participate in private track rentals on a well-prep'd track. They are really a blast. My results should show that Housclass' times are legit. John still has, I believe, the quickest 1/4 slip for a bone stock car. Gives us all something to shoot for next season.

Actually, it was so simple that it seems counterintuitive. Just a matter of squashing the throttle as I let off the brake. Once I trusted the technique and gave up on pre-loading, it worked like a charm.

No offence - on the contrary congrats on your fabulous times - but I would say allot of the result is due to the track ...
Obviously the car is no melon and is making huge power ... in ideal conditions ...
What confuses the cr*p out of me is the hot lapping ... whats going on here ?
Is it only modded E's that have the S/C shutdown issue or is it stock units too ... Personally I think its incorrectly bled intercooler systems that are causing most of the problems ... and of course faulty pumps.

My father's stock SL55 has the same supercharger issues you modded guys have. I've tried 0-130 runs and at around 110 the s/c shuts off. My friend had the same prob with his E55 but he used some type of liquid mixture in the intercooler and hasn't had a problem since. Now he is fully modded and still no problems.
Awesome run, you've cemented the 55k motor as a truly legendary engine.
