And now, the estimate for the damage
Story of the encounter with a deer is here - https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/170402-deer-1-e55-0-a.html
I went to the Allstate drive in claims center yesterday. Very friendly and helpful but I think they really underestimated the costs of replacement. They think it's around $1600 for the grill, lower screens and entire bumper cover + paint.
The bumper was undamaged, except a tear at the bottom![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

Now I just need to find a good shop to fix the car.

They're probably a little low, but not too far off. Bumper cover replacement on my clk was $1300 out the door. Remember, you get to choose the body shop, don't let them steer you to one of their preferred shops and insist on genuine MB parts.
Good luck. Done properly, you won't be able to tell it was repaired.

If your car has nano technology (a C before the paint code in the door jam) then try not to paint it (bumper) and see they can just fill the slice and spray underneath.
The nano paint is hard to replicate and most body shops dont even spray it. Its has certain compounds in it which make it hard to chip and it shows less swirl marks plus its baked at some super high temp. Thats why there is hardly any rock chips on my two benzes, especially on my higher miler E55 which has 29k on clock. I think the later build 2004's and up have this paint technology.
